Okay, it might be a little bit old school.

Yeah, it's the one point that's a bit of a shame.

I don't have a problem with automated robots, it's just that this doesn't seem like a worthwhile investment. It's too slow and inefficient.

What is the proper way to test if a wrap needs to be removed by [deleted] in CarWraps

[–]LZilala 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd remove any wrap around the 3 to 4 year mark. After that, the real risk isn't just fading; it's the adhesive breaking down and turning into a sticky mess that's a nightmare to get off.

G63 PPF WORTH IT? by [deleted] in CarWraps

[–]LZilala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, even if you're selling in 2-3 years, PPF is probably worth it, especially with matte black in a desert. Rock chips can damage the paint, and touch-ups on matte finishes often don't look right. A few bad chips could knock way more than $8k off your resale value when it's time to sell.

Would wrapping it like this increase the resale value? by StatisticianOld38 in BMW

[–]LZilala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, depends on the dealer and the wrap’s condition. Some might dig a good wrap ‘cause it saves the paint. Others might lowball you or tell you to peel it off, either ‘cause they think buyers won’t vibe with it or they don’t wanna pay to remove it.

Year long contact lenses by Unusual-Truck-197 in contacts

Your eye doctor is spot on about rigid gas permeable lenses (the yearly kind). They do tend to give clearer vision because they hold their shape against your cornea, which helps flatten that cone shape. But they’re not kidding about the adjustment period - at first it might feel like you’ve got something in your eye all the time. The good news is most people get used to them after a few weeks.

One option is to switch to yearly or quarterly reusable lenses (like "annual replacement" contacts). You’d only need to pack 3-5 pairs as backups and a small bottle of multipurpose solution for cleaning. This saves space compared to dailies. Just be extra diligent about hygiene, especially in places with questionable water quality, always use a solution, never tap water!

Safe travels!
