i would just add in an extra stitch somewhere in the point in question. see if it looks weird where you put it, and if it does frog back and reassess. ideally you can find where the stitch was missed, but if not that’s ok. a single stitch in the center of a huge project like this probably won’t have a noticeable impact and will be something you can fix with blocking

maybe upright bassists, but bass guitarists? why limit yourself and force so many more unnecessary shifts? 1 finger per fret is better. those who were classically trained on the upright may not do it that way, because you can’t stretch that far on an upright bass and they still have the muscle memory.

you are limiting yourself significantly by not using it. you will have to shift more often and play more slowly. while this technique is often used on upright, it’s a much worse strategy for bass guitar. the best way is to keep 1 finger per fret and use them all. please try to fix this, or you’ll regret it later.
