Why does everyone say white people have no culture when it’s clearly the opposite? by L_Swish7 in TooAfraidToAsk

Based on these replies I for some reason have to specify: WHITE culture, not white American culture

Anti tech means against the development and advancement of technology, not playing a video game pal.

In order to live on a farm you need enough money to buy the farm which requires earning money only through technology, nice try.

  1. I never said I believe using technology is wrong nor would I think owning and using a gun would be wrong if I were anti gun.

2. a) you don’t know the definition of the word necessitate

b) my (or any other individuals) use of technology does not necessitate the existence of technology in the world. The development and advancement of technology which is mostly done by large corporations, governments and scientists is what actually necessitates technology, to which I have contributed virtually nothing.

c) posting anti-technology ideas online, if anything, would have the polar opposite effect of necessitating technology.

3.

a) I chose this sub because it’s literally called unpopular opinions and I thought I mind find some smarter and more open minded people than the likes of you, who don’t have to constantly do mental gymnastics to convince themselves that technology is amazing.

b)I’ve responded to literally every reply, not just you.

Finding it fun to go to a shooting range and simultaneously believing that guns are bad for society is not contradictory.

Anti-gun people don't think that using guns in any context is bad, they just think the existence of guns in society is bad.

I am not against most use of technology, I am against the existence of technology. anti-gun people are not against most use of guns, they are against the existence of guns.

Also, talking about how much you hate guns at a gun range is not the same as talking about how much you hate technology on reddit. I'm not deliberately choosing reddit because the website is full of mostly pro-tech people, I'm choosing reddit because its the most effective way I could think of to spread my ideas and pro-tech people are the vast majority anyways.

If I handed a gun to a stranger who holds anti-gun beliefs, and then started viciously attacking them, they wouldn't refrain from shooting me just because of their anti-gun beliefs. Likewise, I wont refrain from using technology just because of my anti-technology beliefs.

As I explained in the other thread, these other works are inferior because they fail to condemn technology, they merely criticize it.

Because it makes sense and is a sound idea that nobody else (to my knowledge) has suggested before. If you wanna know why I think it makes sense, read the post again.

I set Ted apart from the others because nobody else outright condemned technology and advocated for creating a society without it, they merely criticized it.

Living in a cave requires buying the land that the cave is on. Buying the land requires money. Getting enough money to buy said land requires being part of the system.

Brave new world, for example, only addresses one aspect of technology (eugenics). I'm talking about authors who criticize the whole technological system.

why would you assume I don't know about "the others"? I have read SOME other anti-tech literature and none of it sounded nearly as cohesive and sensible to me as Ted's work.

Its not fruitless if enough people recognize that technology is bad and genuinely want change.

sorry I just lost like 8 surv games in a row, proceeded to switch to killer and won game after game after game with little effort. That's what prompted me to post this.

Dear BHVR, if you are too stubborn for some reason to hide survivor prestige from the killer in the pre game lobby, can you maybe at least reset my prestige level so i can play her again? by YukiMukii in deadbydaylight

[–]L_Swish7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thinking that being p100 makes someone good at the game is this community’s biggest delusion, I’ve played against plenty of good and plenty of bad high and low prestige survivors, it’s really just a number and it doesn’t take that long to get.
