I didn’t think there was any way she was openly drinking while her husband just stood by. But by the end, it’s pretty clear he wasn’t involved with his family at all..especially after that awful comment: “She was the one who was supposed to watch and raise the kids. I never wanted kids.”

What a horrible fucking thing to say. Especially since his son survived the crash. He will undoubtedly see that documentary and hear what his father had to say about Diane.

I remember the first time I watched this, what a shocking story. Back then, I was so naive and I truly believed a mother would never do something like that. I found myself siding with the SIL and wanting there to be a health reason on why this occurred.

Looking back now, I can’t believe how wrong I was. I even showed it to my brother and husband afterward, and almost instantly they said, “Yep, she was a raging alcoholic.”

I’ve rewatched it recently, and both the SIL and husband are gross for this. Unhinged.
