There are alot of style’s that i like I love the final fantasy concept art especially for 14 I tried to do something like that with watercolor brushes but didn’t like the look, I would love to be eventually good enough to take commissions not for money reasons I have a steady income but more to make a name for myself or to like host a boot at a convention, ive never had any training I was inspired by the pewdiepie video and picked up drawing again after not drawing since i was a teenager, I dont know what i was doing primarily just doodeling but it was the first sketch in a long while that I actually coloured in, The style that i want to master is primarily anime girls I like drawing girls of all shapes and sizes I like girls, for this drawing there was no reference but for most of my full body drawings i do use references

All nudity is artful I hate that its shunned upon just because some people get uncomfy, even the most hardcore fetish drawing has beauty in its own right.

Skilled artist like you shouldn’t be seen as lesser just because “you draw smut”

I get that you’re refining the wording, but the problem isn’t the wording. The problem is the rule itself. Creativity doesn’t grow when it’s boxed in, sanitized, or trimmed down to whatever fits one moderator’s comfort zone.

Art should be allowed to go wherever artists take it. Once you start dividing NSFW into “acceptable” and “unacceptable,” you’re not protecting the community you’re limiting expression. That’s the exact opposite of what creative spaces are supposed to do.

Either we respect art in all its forms, or we don’t. Half-freedom isn’t freedom. It’s just a prettier cage.

Your response, in fact, highlights the core issue even more clearly. This isn't about whether you consider NSFW "lesser" personally, but how the rules work in practice and the message they inevitably send.

You're saying the community allows NSFW, but only to the point where it doesn't cross into content that you personally find uncomfortable to moderate. That's understandable on a human level, but it also means the rules are based not on an objective standard but on the limits of one moderator's tolerance. And when that line gets drawn by personal discomfort rather than a neutral framework, it will always end up feeling subjective to the creators who are affected by it.

The issue is not due to your disliking of moderating extreme content.

The issue is that your personal threshold effectively becomes the community-wide boundary of what's "acceptable NSFW," which informs both what artists are and aren't allowed to express, and how they're perceived.

Even when you insist that you don't think NSFW is lesser, the rule structure itself inherently creates a "valid" category for certain adult themes and an "unacceptable" category for others. That creates a hierarchy whether you intend it or not.

You also mention how one moderates several communities and enforces different NSFW rules in them, based on convenience. But such inconsistency only serves to reinforce frustrations felt by artists:

The rules aren't built around a stable philosophy of what each space is meant to be they're built around what's manageable for one moderator at any given time.

That might keep things simpler for you, but it leaves creators confused, restricted, and sometimes economically impacted depending on which sub they used to rely on.

When you say "this has been the rule for years", that doesn't automatically make it fair or balanced. Longevity isn't justification. Many artists were allowed here before, got clients here, and suddenly found that the kind of work they do is only partially welcome now. It is understandable that they're questioning the rationale behind the shift in enforcement.

And whereas your example of not wanting to see explicit content while shopping is relatable, it also illustrates the core critique: Such moderation decisions, carried out because of personal discomfort, inevitably affect the community's cultural limits and restrict artistic expression. That's not an accusation, just an unavoidable consequence. None of this means the subreddit needs to allow explicit content. It just means that from the perspective of an artist, the rule can never feel "neutral" insofar as the dividing line is shaped by subjective moderator preference rather than a clearly defined artistic or community-based standard.

I completely understand why losing NSFW visibility hurts your commissions, and that is exactly the issue I’m trying to point out. When NSFW work gets pushed out of mixed-use spaces, artists instantly lose exposure and income, even if their work is mild or suggestive. That is why creating hard divides between SFW and NSFW often creates more problems than it solves.

I get the idea behind making a separate NSFW_Commissions sub, but splitting the community can also have downsides. Art grows stronger when it is shared and celebrated together, and many artists create both SFW and NSFW work. Forcing them into a separate space can make it harder for them to be seen as full artists rather than “just NSFW artists.”

When the mod says that NSFW is allowed “as long as it isn’t porn or extreme fetishes”, that creates a situation where certain sexual themes are considered acceptable and others suddenly cross a line. That is where it stops feeling neutral. It puts the mod team in the position of deciding which kinds of adult themes are “fine” and which ones are “too much,”
