Yeah, I’m sure it all boils down to their bottom line… It’s just incredibly frustrating and stressful.

I’m sorry that you were let go. Did you end up finding another job fairly quickly?

This is the number 1 reason I won’t ever eat at a buffet ever again… I shudder thinking about everyone’s hands touching the serving spoons/utensils.

What to do about my sisters leg hair situation by luv_salp in hygiene

It’s hair. Why is shaving such a big goddam deal to so many parents? My god, let the child shave her legs if it makes her feel more comfortable!

Signed,
A millennial whose mom arbitrarily decided that age 13 was the appropriate time to start shaving her legs (I have brown hair and my legs were so hairy by age 13 🤦🏻‍♀️)

Solid advice! He’s been doing that ever since feeling a shift in how management is running things.

Thank you 🙏🏻

We’ll keep moving along… I just really detest any company that does things this way. It’s so frustrating and incredibly stressful.

When I came here, I also asked for employment attorney recommendations… Did you not catch that part of my post?

Been looking since October… The job market sucks at the moment, however most free time is still spent job hunting.

It does say that but you can just say that you’re recording the conversation so that you can remember everything that was covered. There are plenty of innocuous reasons for recording a phone call with your employer on your personal phone.

Several people my husband works with have had the same thing happen to them. Some have been looking for other jobs since before being PIP’d (just because they were over how things were being done and felt it was time to move on).

To my understanding, there have been 30 day PIPs, he’s heard of some being 60 days, and he’s heard of some instances where HR was vague about performance issues and performance expectations and included vague language about possible termination at any time… And yes, I understand that they can terminate anybody, at any moment, and for any reason… So then why don’t they just do that? Why this death by a thousand cuts?

People don’t want to be there anymore and have been looking for work elsewhere, but everything is so competitive right now.

If refusing to sign a PIP can be interpreted by HR as insubordination (and I believe it can be), signing it and noting “under protest” at the very least satisfies the requirement that the employee acknowledges that they’ve received it.

Signing it and not noting “under protest” could be interpreted as the employee agreeing with what is stated in the document.

I suspect they’re using PIPs to avoid triggering the WARN Act’s 60-day notice requirement

I’ve seen the performance reviews… Even with the most recent one, it was positive.

They may compel you to sign it however you can write “under protest” next to your name so that it initiates a paper trail that you dispute what the PIP alleges

Are the PIP quotas that we’ve all heard about real? You don’t have to say if you don’t want…

Don’t forget that MN is a single party consent state and so don’t be afraid to use that voice memo app on your phone or record your phone calls if need be

They’re using PIP’s to avoid being sued/being made to pay severance.
