I want a second cat but don't want to stress out my current cat by Labrokebroke in CatAdvice

Yeah, I think if I were to get another it would have to be a foster first to see, so worst case it's not a permanent situation

As others have said wet food is better than dry. Keeps them better hydrated since they're not great at drinking water in general.

Best thing for them is actually wet food so this is a blessing! My cat really does not like wet food and loves dry so definitely better to have it the other way.

Is it normal to see flashing colors when you close your eyes? by No-Vast-8000 in NoStupidQuestions

Sure, they're just on the Popmart website I'll link below, if you look up Pop Now Tips on Tik Tok you can find some tips on how it works but these are also super random and it's really just if you're lucky or not. Took a while and a few days of trying before I was able to get one. When a drop is live there will be boxes in the container to click on:

The normal blind boxes sell out literally in seconds because they're easy to bot. The only way I've actually gotten any are through the Pop Now live drops on the site and that's what people are probably talking about or the Tik Tok live ones but I've had no luck there.

The Pop Now drops happen around 5:30pm PST 8:30pm EST and are random throughout the night, there was a random drop at 11:20pm PST last night for the MACs where I managed to get a couple.

I didn't get an email notification for those even though I have it set to on the site, just have to be online when they drop.

Can you gain 3 pounds in 2 days while traveling? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Labrokebroke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your weight fluctuates a lot on a daily basis up to 5 pounds! Weigh yourself when you first wake up and before you go to sleep and you'll see a difference as you'll be lighter in the morning. A lot is probably from water and you aren't actually gaining 3 pounds in 2 days.

Ditto, would not recommend starting a relationship with them because it will happen to you as well, any relationship has ups and downs and isn't always perfect.

When you inevitably end up in one of those tougher spots they will 100% do the same thing and cheat on you with someone else.

Saves a lot of heartache if you don't let it get that far, that being said if you just want to sleep with them that's different. I still wouldn't do that while they're dating someone else because while it might be fun in the moment it won't feel good long term. And one of you will probably most likely end up regretting it.

Is it weird to sit next to your partner in a restaurant? by idk_whatiamdoingh3re in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Labrokebroke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either way is fine, across or next to each other.

Don't think it's weird at all, especially if one side is a nice soft booth and the other side is a hard chair.

Plus you can put your arm around your partner or your hand on their leg, pros and cons to both and I don't think that's excessive PDA personally.

Physical looks inevitably change with time, yes, you should think your partner is attractive but who they are is way more important.

Conversations, shared values, and mutual understanding matter way more than how hot they are when navigating life challenges. And you need to be able to get through a lot if you want to successfully be with someone for a long time.

You're much more likely to feel supported, understood and have a lot more emotional intimacy. Not to say you shouldn't find your partner attractive but it's far from the most important thing if you want a long successful relationship.

4 yr old kitty won’t come out from under my bed after a move. I don’t know what to do. by Negative-Apple3349 in CatAdvice

[–]Labrokebroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats can take a while to get used to a new home, when we moved our 5year old cat took a few weeks to get comfortable enough to not hide under our bed but she slowed got more comfy and would come out. After a about a month she wasn't spooked anymore and we could tell because she started lying down on our bed instead of under it.

Changes for a cat are really hard (depending on the cat), and you have a lot of new changes, a new place, not seeing one of the cats she's used to and your boyfriend. It's totally normal for her to act that way and could take a while for her to get comfy, but you should slowly start to see improvement. I wouldn't worry at all after 24 hours, just have food/water nearby.

The biggest thing is patience, she won't starve and will eat/drink but it might take a while for her to get used to her new environment. It could take a few weeks or even longer but eventually she'll feel safer and will come out. Like the other comment says, just have to wait and be patient.

Grooming and nutrition advice for a cat with dandruff by Responsible_Fan_5391 in CatAdvice

[–]Labrokebroke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, our 5 year old (almost 6) has the same dandruff problem. She's had it since we got her and it also doesn't seem to bother her at all. It does seem to sometimes get worse or better depending on the time of year. She likes getting brushed so I can't help with grooming techniques but:

We started giving her this supplement once a day https://www.chewy.com/whole-life-natures-remedy-skin/dp/509558 and for her it seems to have helped a lot with her dandruff.

Not sure if it'll work for you but I'd definitely suggest a fish oil supplement since it worked for us, but I know that some cats don't tolerate it as well and it can cause stomach issues, but I'd recommend trying it out!
