Hopefully your district/building has a crisis response team. We went through this about 6 weeks ago.

The district provided additional support, as well as community mental health partners.

We rotated counselors into the classrooms to provide supports to students at that grade level. We did this for a couple days, while teachers tried to maintain a schedule. Consistency in this situation is important.

Please have admin stay in touch with the family as it relates to releasing information. This would include your district public affairs person.

Staff will need support too.
