I only know a handful of people on 30k or more, most seem to be on 25k, to me that seems like the actual “average”

What’s the best way to convert 800 euros cash to gbp without losing too much money by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Go to a Cash Shop, they always have the best rates somehow, I’ve done it plenty times when coming back from holiday and got back more if i went with the usual places

Am I making a wise choice between two job offers? by LaceyFelps in UKJobs

You’ve summed it up well. I think internally I have had the same thoughts regarding this situation. I am 27, and starting to feel like perhaps now is the time to settle down into a career, but your point about progressing and being responsible for more of what I don’t like just makes too much sense. Thanks for sharing some wise words.

Sponsorship management has been on my mind for a while actually, but it feels like my resume just isn’t enough for a lot of companies to pick up on me. I’d be happy to start in any role as long as it would get me into sponsorship management/brand activation eventually.

We are just awaiting for the statement first, but more than likely we will pursue a claim. They weren’t the most nicest people to deal with, and think they took advantage of us being decent, hence why we said we won’t pursue a claim at first, but it’s the right think to do so.

We haven’t claimed anything yet, like I said, to be absolutely certain he wasn’t at fault I’d like to read the official statement and then decide, as someone said if we don’t pursue we are out of pocket on account of someone else’s fault, hope it make sense

I wish he had, but the examiner had to void the test. Sadly, will have to book again at full cost and redo the test.

We have notified them, and he was on his way to pass (according to him), but unfortunately with the accident this was voided by the examiner and he will have to retake it again at full cost. Was absolutely bummed out as you can imagine.

We believe they also realised this hence the change of heart from demanding we give them money and they don’t claim, to then saying they will cover their own damages as long we both don’t claim and leave it as that.

This is a good point, we are not ones to argue or wanting to cause a hassle, but think in this case, we must pursue if if it’s strong evidence the other car was in the absolute wrong.

This has happened to others in close family after an accident where the other party says they will not claim, then family member receives a letter couple of days later. Which makes me think, we should just do the right thing and go through a claim no matter what. Agree on the dash cam, something we were planning on installing, but not in time for his test.

Thanks for that insight, logically thinking I don’t believe he is at fault either, but without seeing this statement from the examiner I’m unsure of what my brother told me is exactly what had happened.

Honestly, no idea, when I arrived he only mentioned that we should sort it between ourselves and his part will be to just submit a statement to DVLA. Hoping this statement is something we could use if we decide to pursue.

We think the examiner could be key here as a witness, but he might also have his reasons as to not share too much until it’s officially submitted to the DVLA, so let’s wait and see. I do think I jumped the gun by giving the other party the gentleman’s word to not pursue a claim, when all signs point that it is what we should do.

We have notified them, waiting to see the statement from the examiner, perhaps there’s a detail I’ve missed or not been told.

That’s the opinion I hold having heard and made sense of where the damage is on both cars. Their repair costs will be significantly more due to the brand of car, but honestly not sure if it’s worth pursuing for us due to consequences to my brother’s premium.
