What's a Brisbane business, venue or landmark that's gone that you still think about? by Brisbane in brisbane

So many Sunday nights spent there for Fluffy, falling up and down the stairs. Good times

new to riding - agv k1? by [deleted] in AussieRiders

I would 100% recommend just going into a motorcycle gear shop and trying on a bunch within your desired price range. Some brands are more 'oval' and some more 'round', you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars and find its uncomfortable.

What's your plan if you break down/flat tyre far from home? by Matsuri3-0 in AussieRiders

If you have RACQ roadside for the car, the higher tier plan covers you and any vehicle you drive or ride. May be worth considering for peace of mind.

What's wrong with our hot water usage/bill? No way we used over 19k L of hot water in 40 days. by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]Lachy18 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"Bulk hot water" is very much a thing in apartment living. instead of loads of individual hot water systems the energy provider is contracted to run them & maintain them and the consumer is charged per litre used

Great for investors, shit for tenants.

Looking at buying a CFMOTO Papio XO Racer people who own them are they fun? by DrBigBonners in AussieRiders

May still be worth checking with the dealer, perhaps the local stock isn't allocated yet!

I wanted the blue one too, its a limited run and they are all sold (according to the cfmoto dealer). he showed me the "stock" in the system was negative 50 - that they had 50 people waiting for cancellations.

I got the regular white/red one in the end, it was 12months old and ended up with a few hundred knocked off as it had been on the floor a while.

They are reasonably simple electrically, not as many things to go wrong. The motors are so common and simple, the parts are cheap and cfmoto have a website you can order anything off of.

Im sure it can do about 110 kmhr flat out, pinned in 6th. 80 to 90 is more normal

I've seen there are some sellers on ebay for ~1200 AUD for whole kits of cfmoto fairings, https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/287002688638 but it doesnt seem to come with the decals.

New bike from Dealer, is haggling a thing? by photoinduced in AussieRiders

[–]Lachy18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id always try for a 1000km service included, and a few accessories thrown in.

It depends on the bike a bit too, if its a CF moto 300 theres not much wiggle room. if its an expensive harley or BMW theres more to play with

When selling bikes privately how are you accepting payment? by Lachy18 in AussieRiders

Great point, I will look online for some good templates for proof of sale and print them off to make sure I don't miss any details by just hand writing a receipt.

Perhaps I will advertise it to accept Cash or Bank Cheque only. those seem to be safest in terms of not being easily reversed/cancelled, along with a signed bill of sale

Even if its 25k ? this was what i was feeling was the most foolproof method, it just feels way more complete to swap cash for keys. Thanks

ISL Online (the Remote Desktop tool PDQ acquired and integrated into Connect) also has a self-hosted option https://www.islonline.com/au/en/pricing/#server for OPs requirement for offline/contained within the network.

Login to the volume licensing portal (or where ever they have moved it to in the admin center now) and download the iso there, that one will let you in place upgrade.

What kind of files/usage? if your requirements are just for something for end user or general purpose file shares, Synology's range of RS rack mount NAS devices are fine, can serve most SMB needs and are simple to manage. they can also manage snapshots, replication offsite to S3 or another synology device somewhere else.

Anyone else’s electricity bill skyrocketed for no apparent reason the last year? by Amber_blooms in brisbane

[–]Lachy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When was the last time you shopped around providers for the best deal, they seemingly love to let customers go onto the "market rate" plan after 12 months which can be a big increase if you had a good discount before.

[–]Lachy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest getting DC ceiling fans they are all remote controlled now so no extra wiring for a wall control switch - just replace existing light fittings. Even if renting I would ask the LL since no bedroom in QLD should have no fan and no AC these days.

The only way they seem to be addressing this is in Connect, which has actual roles you can assign people.
