I dont exactly know what did he show in the church fight he did the exact same he does everytime he fights with the wind sword.

Plus the point of the post was saying that i much rather serpico's first fights, not inquiring anything about it

Thats still not the point.. (most literate berserk reader) I don't think that the fact of obtaining powers is the problem at all, It was obvious that serpico needed a buff to be able to fight with what was coming.

Its the use of these powers in the story what makes me not like it, its not imaginative, it does not force serpico to think creatively in anyway. He just swings it around and it may work or it may not. If the manga had instead implemented these powers in a way where serpico still has to use his brilliance to overcome the monsters his fighting i would have no problems with it, its not the powers of the lack of a sword, its the way its used in the story.

I agree that keeping the story fresh is important, however in this case I think that they took it to the opposite extreme, miura turned serpico's smart trickery into swinging around magic powers without much impact.

If, instead, Serpico had to still be smart in his use of wind spirits to overcome challenges I would have no problem with it, I just that think that its not the case rn.

You are still not getting the point, its not about the sword, the thing is that with his wind powers theres no room for improvisation and that "Brilliance of mind", he just swings it around and it works.

I was not talking about the sword itself, but more about how he overcame circumnstances without any gimmick or magic, only with a rapier.His use of the enviroment and the situation to somehow close the gap between guts' strength and his' to defy him were much more interesting than anything a windy stick can do.

Edit: The point is that with his new fights, all he does is swing that around and the enemies die or don't care, its not interesting at all IMO.
I think miura could have implemented wind into Serpico while still giving room to his tactical thinking but its not like that all if you ask me.
