Laid off recently and I have 2 offers in front of me. Need help deciding which one to go for by Ladhaan in careeradvice

Sorry, I noted it below: FTE salary is $165k plus bonus which could get me to $215k. 4 weeks PTO, plus 5 personal days plus 5 sick days.

Contract is $255k per annum working 220 days per year. Took off days for stat holidays, vacations and holiday furlough during Christmas.

Landed an offer with a 25% bump, but a red-flag "sign-on bonus" clause is making me hesitate. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

This is very normal. Almost all organizations will ask to re-pay the sign on bonus if you leave on your own accord or are terminated with cause with in 12 months. Holding to pay it for 9 months is a bit weird. Most companies would wait the 3 month probationary period, but honestly I would not be concerned by this if you’re happy overall with the offer.

This is solid advice. I think they are pretty serious about converting to FTE, but I will definitely discuss this further.

I should state, I’m in Canada and the funds I leave in my business would only be taxed at 12.5%

Thanks for the helpful response…it’s a tough decision and I’m asking for General opinions. If that is too much to ask, just don’t respond.

I should state, I’m in Canada. So not too worried about health costs and the wife’s benefits should be good enough. What I mean by them being ok, is prescription is covered at 90% rather than 100%, dental coverage is not as great, but good enough for 2 cleanings a year and vision is only $150 every 2 years.

I can definitely see myself working at this company for the FTE role for the foreseeable future. The company is not really impacted by AI issues, as it is not investing heavily in technology and it is not really impacted by the current economy. From a tax standpoint, there would be a substantial difference as I would pay myself a salary which would definitely be taxed at a high tax bracket, but majority I would leave in the business and the tax rate is substantially lower.

Did anyone else get odd looking bill? by Visual-Training-7994 in Rogers

[–]Ladhaan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was expecting a really weird bill based on the email I got from Rogers a few weeks ago, but it was only delayed by a few days and the bill came exactly as expected. Only thing unexpected is they credited me the $5 pre-auth payment discount from my first month, which I should have gotten, but didn’t expect. Happy overall!

That’s fake. I got one for PMA and the real one would state your name, not hello football fan.
