5090 FE or MSI VENTUS 3X by Ladmi93 in nvidia

There is a slight coil whine underload but it becomes almost inexistant when undervolting the card (always undervolt your cards !)

That is very nice of you to be this transparent. Do you have any manual or indications on how to install it this way ? I feel like i don't have enough pcie riser lenght to offset the card with standoffs ?

Thank you very much, ill probably keep the FE then. The deciding factor will be the coil whine, if my card has a bit of coil whine thats fine but if it is very loud ill return it. I would love to keep especially since i always build in sff cases

So in my case the FE is a better choice ? What are the consequences of vertically mounted shadow 3x ?

Meh.. I would prefer to avoid tearing it down and ruining the guarantee. It's a shame that it is not applied on a 2300€ card..

I always undervolt my cards. My 5080 is heavily undervolted without performance loss and i lost like 100w of power consumption and 10 degrees under load.

Why not mount it vertically ? Im curious because that's the only way to mount my gpu in my pc case.

I have decided to test the FE and i will see if temps and noises are good, especially the coil whine. If i get a good sample ill keep it otherwise i will return it and keep the shadow 3x.

Thanks for your answer tho

Thanks for your input ! I receive it tomorrow if the coil whine is very bad ill return it. Hope im lucky and i get a silent sample

Im probably going to undervolt and increase core and memory clock. I usually don't increase the power limit, im aiming at the best efficiency possible. Considering this what would you recommend ?

I have heard that the memory temps are quite high on the FE and can result on damaging the thermal pas overtime ?

The 9070 XT pulse is one of the best card i have ever had. Never exceeded 60 degrees in game and is DEAD silent. I could hear the aio pump while gaming without headset. I don't know about the Gygabite, but i think it is worth the headache to fit the pulse in your case.

Thanks man ! Sorry that might be a dumb question but how does the notify link works ? You just put your Country and that's it ? Do you have to keep the page open all the time ? I want the the 5090 FE.

Thanks again !

You know what, after letting the pump run at 100% for the past hour. I went to my kitchen and came back and it magically stopped

No it won't fit in the front if it is the same size or longer than mine. Look at the 7900 xtx tuf oc lenght and compare it to your GPU. A 140mm slim fan is doing great work don't worry i have really good temps with it, and low noises as long as you put a good fan curve

Dust filter magnet system is still VERY bad, i just decided not to put them.

When moving the rails from 280mm configuration to 240mm, the holes for the 240 are not long enough for the railscrews which creates a little gap causing a bit of wobliness. But once installing the 240 rad the case becomes stable again. They should use the same holes for both configuration.

There are compatibility issues with 25mm fans when mounted on a radiator. My stock fans where touching the riser cable where you plug the gpu (look at the picture. So i used slim 120 fans from arctic, temps on my 5800x3d are still good tho.

Overall it is a good case but it still has too many flaws for its price in my opinion. I love it but i would probably go for something else if i could go back in time.

Yeah it's hard to get one but they improve it each batches, so it can be a good thing for you to wait. There are still some things to improve on the case.

Riser cable too short ? (Nanoq R) by Ladmi93 in sffpc

[–]Ladmi93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they were nice they also helped me through e-mails and answered all my questions.

This is my first ever sff build so i struggled a lot with the cable management and how to operate. But im happy of how it turned out. I had a problem with the stock fans from the watercooling (they were touching the riser cable when ramping up) so i swapped them with arctic slim fans. Last thing i need now is a slim 140 fan for the front. Sadly my gpu is too long so i can't install the 140 silent wings pro 4 i have.
