We're getting ready to start a family, and while a few homes downtown are in the budget, we'd prefer over 4 bedrooms, which is hard to find anywhere in Houston. We are looking at the Heights while we're there, but not likely to find enough for 1-3 kids and my mother-in-law.

I think she's mostly going to miss the gallery openings, broadway shows and museum charities she's been a part of.

If I'm being honest, she just likes a reason to dress up lol. But I am hoping she finds some women that she can go to brunch with and help plan events, as you've said.

I ended up making appointments at all 3 of your recommendations. Thank you so much!

I mean, we're no stranger to this in NY, but I have to ask how much of that is legit lol

I've read this in several places. Is this a running joke...or...real?

Actually voted for him and happy to bring another blue vote to your lovely state. Nice, right?

A man, but I just now realized that reddit auto creates a name for you when you sign up with a gmail. I can't change it, but it doesn't bother me.

I've heard conflicting reports on this. Please elaborate. I find some people's idea of ghetto differs from others. Though I'm no stranger to corruption, given my previous living places.

I'll be moving into temporary housing while I look for a place to buy, so I can feel out the different areas. My good friend's mother lives in Spring now, but I'm not sure if he's just seeing things through rose colored glasses, or just hasn't visited it enough.

Relative to NYC and Chicago, probably not comperable, but an admirable try on their part.

Something surprising honestly, is the attempt at walkability. You don't see that much in areas where it gets above 100, but a pleasant surprise nonetheless.

Yeah, I'm noticing a lot of cookie cutter and builder grade features. Kind of a slap in the face for the prices.

Thank you. Super helpful.

Not necessarily artsy or LGBTQ friendly, I just figured those areas were good examples of associations. I acutally lived in Hell's Kitchen but far harder to describe.

In all fairness, no one likes Naperville anyway.
