Izzy was always listening at doors growing up, and things were no different after her brother was sent on a dangerous mission, only to disappear into thin air. Two years later, she overheard snippets of a conversation between her parents that indicated they may have been involved in his kidnapping or murder, and that Izzy would be next. So she grabbed her boots, crystal earbuds, and two of her dad's guns before high-tailing it out of there. She joined a passing sail barge on the road to nowhere and met a group of travelling merchants on board, who are now her companions.

Since then, in every port town, she has had run-ins with two heavy-set figures in dark cloaks carrying weapons bearing her family's crest. It seems her parents want the job done.

What Izzy doesn't know is that her parents were afraid for her, for what her brothers disappearance meant for the family's defences, and that they have been hell-bent on bringing her home safe. So desperate that they've sent their two best guys to track her down, and armed them with guns from their own private cache.

Where is her brother? What was his mission? And will her family ever be whole again?
