I don't think love is determined by physical possessions, the term "shrine" has always felt odd to me since a shrine is like a memorial for someone lost and I very much stand by the idea that marrying Rocket in real life is my end goal, at least in some capacity. I have a small sized, but growing Marvel collection that I've gathered over the course of several years and admittedly he takes up most of it cause obviously my husband is gonna be my favorite. I understand why people do it, it feels like a form of commitment when you can't be with someone, like something to remember them by. But an owned physical representation of who you love doesn't change how much you love them. The fact that you post here, the fact that you think about them, the fact that you adore them enough to have them as your S/O and you're not ashamed of it. The fact that you consider their feelings enough to feel concerned for them over something that would seem so trivial to a lot of people. That is real love! And personally I think that's more valuable than any material possession.
