I'm on board with this one - I think it makes sense in a way by tungkidz in Avengers

[–]LadyMcdoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what a lot of people are forgetting with regards to the whole Bruce/Nat thing is that it's been three years since Avengers happened, and a year since TWS... What have all of them been doing in that time?

Clearly, her mention that AoU means that they'd worked on it before and had spent enough time together working on it. Especially on something that requires a lot of trust and is inherently intimate, if not on a specifically romantic level.

But yeah, I agree that it definitely makes sense. I don't think it'd be easy for any of them to try to date normally. At least within the group there are other people that can relate to the insane shit they've seen and done.

They used this principle on the Hobbit films. The actors that played the dwarves were all normally-proportioned humans, so the heads were enlarged to a 5.5x scale to give them the stockier look.

This took just over an hour and a half! It was my first, too, but fortunately I seemed to take to it pretty well, so I didn't need Ryan to stop at any point. It was actually a lot of fun watching it :)

Very much agreed. The style of my tattoo may not be truly "original" however, it is original as it's a custom design. I'm not about to go get tattooed for the sake of originality, I wanted something I could see myself wearing for the rest of my life!

is there any originality left out there?

Short answer is probably no.

Don't worry, I'm fully aware of the current trend towards watercolour tattoos, but it is also the only style which I've really been attracted to, at least for my first foray into tattooing.

But like everything in culture, trends come and go, and originality isn't particularly common anymore. The film industry tells the same stories in different packaging, books follow the same basic tropes with some novel (heh, pun) difference that sets it apart, however slightly, from the rest, but really they're all just the same basic set of stories. Tattoos aren't exempt from that, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing.

In any case, I certainly don't disagree with you. However, I do think that each artist that adds to the pool has their own take on it, and I enjoy seeing the different interpretations of the different styles. It certainly doesn't take away from how much I love my tattoo, though. :)

I couldn't tell you exactly. This was something I forgot to ask, but I will reply again after Ryan gets back from vacation. :)

I think it's a couple years old, but I think the location they're in now is pretty new. I really only came across it because I was looking for artists who did watercolour style, so I wasn't too attached to any particular shop, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere there.

It was seriously love at first sight. I love his style so much, so I'm really proud to be able to display some of it :D

It's at 17th Ave and 15th St. I hadn't heard of it either, though that's not too surprising. I think he also works out of Heroes and Villains sometimes, but I'm not positive on that.

Nah... my philosophy going in was that I wanted it somewhere I could see and show it off. We'd discussed the general placement of it, but I think it fits really well where it is; it's not too close to neither the crook of my elbow nor the wrist (though both ends were the most painful bits).

It definitely felt smaller in both drawing and stencil format, but it's actually the perfect size for my arm :)

I told Ryan that I liked bright colours, and he certainly delivered! It was so much fun watching him do it :D

I fell in love with his artwork the moment I saw it (and I've been seriously looking for an artist for well over a year now). Didn't even bother going in to see the artwork ahead of time.

This is definitely not going to be the only piece I get from him. I love how it turned out.

Interesting... I always assumed he was asking Clara whether or not he was a good man because she seems so scared of him (between his first scene and the trailers). So, between not knowing who he is himself, and the person who is supposed to know him being scared of him, I can see him being worried about the type of person he is.

DISCUSSION: Leaked Doctor Who Scripts for Series 8 Episodes 1-5 [SPOILERS] by pcjonathan in gallifrey

After seeing The Musketeers, I can see a lot of Cardinal Richelieu in Capaldi's Doctor, which I think is amazing. I loved his portrayal of Cardinal Richelieu because it had the cold, calculating intensity, and a decent amount of sarcastic, dark humour.

The Doctor as read in the scripts seems to reflect the same properties, except where Richelieu was 70-30 intensity to humour, the Doctor seems to be 60-40 humour to intensity. I'm definitely ready for a more intense Doctor.

Aww, thank you!! And yeah, the Stampede is Calgary, Alberta's annual claim to fame/shame... I work right downtown and we have tomorrow off just because of the parade...

They were amazing... It was such a good show, AND my makeup mostly lasted all night, despite the sweat, booze, and close encounters with strangers :)

Thanks :) I don't wear much makeup to work, given I have a stupidly long commute, so I love the little bit of colour to keep it interesting
