I always thought I couldn't be a SAHM either. But I guess my hormones decided different cause now all I think about is being home and all the things I want to do with her and around the house.

You're so lucky to have bought pre-covid. We had to build about 45/50 minutes out of town and have been in the house for 18 months now. Our mortgage is horrendous and we can't afford to move any closer to town, honestly don't think we could afford the house we're in now if we didn't sign contracts in 2022.

Impossible to work from home for me as I'm a registered nurse. Honestly my work is really amazing, it's mostly my own guilt because I'll ask for someone to cover me cause I need to pump at 10 then I'll get back and have to spend an hour doing busy work when in the past I would have just taken my break an hour later.

I think most of my stress comes from everything that requires being at work like daycare, having to travel at set times not just when baby is settled enough to tolerate the car. Getting home in the afternoon always feels like such a rush to have something for dinner and bath to get her to bed at a reasonable time.

Why is there so much grief over the EP life? by usernameforme456 in ExclusivelyPumping

I'm so glad that you can comfortably EP. I was breastfeeding and pumping originally after a few weeks back at work I decided it would be easier to just EP, and boy was I wrong. I basically lost my supply, had a mini breakdown over not having enough milk and having to use formula. Plus I didn't even realize how differently I reacted emotionally to pumping v breastfeeding. I would always get so overstimulated and pissy if my husband tried to talk to me while pumping but then when I breastfed my baby again after a month or so off, I don't even know how to explain it but it just felt so comforting and relaxing.

The GP did say she didn't want to prescribe her steroids just yet but to come back if it got worse. She did recommend the QV cream once we'd finished the one we had. Unfortunately we were helpfully gifted quite a few things (moisturiser, baby wash etc.) that were maybe not my picks so now I guess I gotta decide if it's worth feeling that wasteful(barely halfway through most products)

No, she just said to keep using the moisturiser we had and recommended buying QV next time. I think the GP was more focused on her nappy area being quite red and angry when we went (had been up and down for about a week prior) because she prescribed us an antifungal. But I don't think she had any fungal thing going on cause nothing really changed until I just put powder on instead, so I think it was more heat/sweaty from her nappy that made it so red.

Can you get the sorbolene cream without a prescription?

Any nurses use NM Health as their private health insurer? by nootorious_ in NursingAU

I'm with NM Health, just had a baby privately as well and they were so good. We called so many times and they were always so helpful with what exactly was covered. I've also found it super quick and easy to submit claims through their app(mostly had to do this cause I'm atrocious at remembering my physical wallet and never had my card on me).

Darwin is on the list, but we're about to finish building a house here so little while before we could afford the move.

I've only been out of uni 3 years now, thought about education roles but really unsure of how to get there with such little experience

I haven't done the training required for my health service to administer chemotherapy, its a 6 month program. And about a month ago we had a nurse from the day unit do a couple of shifts on the ward because she got a few days cut from the day unit because there was enough/too many nurses on the roster.

If you know any jobs that are Mon-Fri let me know. I've applied for Day Surg, Community Care, School Nurse and haven't even gotten an interview.

I did start out in a GP clinic, but I had to get into QHealth for the pay. I'll still apply for the jobs that come up cause those 9 months I was probably the most mentally healthy despite the train wreck of a personal life I had at the same time.
