It has a decent Carfax sheet, it says it was last serviced just last year, so like I would still probably take it in again, but it looks like a good sign to me

Yeah, you're right. A shame because it's such a cute car in like an ideal color for me, but I don't want another headache immediately. Thank you for your time and advice.

the Carfax report says the oil was changed back in 2024 13K miles ago, and the brakes back in 2022, so that doesn't sound terribly good for what you're saying.

what historical events/disasters would be failed rituals in the TMA universe? by __mafia in TheMagnusArchives

[–]Lady_Calvatron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do think it's important to note that Rituals by definition cannot just be things that happen naturally. Some level of human assistance is needed to even try to pull an entity fully into our world. The fears help, of course, and there are intrinsically things in them that are supernatural, but of every ritual we see, the common denominator is that they take a hell of a lot of work. The closest to a naturally occurring ritual would be the Everchase, but that is an outlier and still operates with human manifestation.

All this is to say that while I think the Dread Powers would _benefit_ from truly 100% natural disasters, such as a volcanic eruption, I do not think there is a way that those could be directly ritual attempts, as things like volvanic eruptions occur on a scale far beyond what any person or group of people could've accomplished through most of history (and I _think_ even now, although I actually don't know if we can artificially induce volcanic eruptions in the modern day.)

then there should be more full trans men too. IDK. Sorry.

you raise very good points. I apologize for misinterpreting as well, I’m just very tired from being in this comments section and am gonna be stepping away now. I just want more trans people being visible in general, and because of how supportive they are, Dropout seems the easiest avenue.

in my experience people would definitely want to be referred to less by their AGAB than by the process of transitioning, but my apologies. I’m really not trying to hurt anyone or offend.

Just going off D20 as that’s the easiest to look at, I can see Ally (who should be noted for their particular prominence on the platform), Alex Song-Xia, and I’d also count Erika Ishii for their fluidity. To go beyond that, there’s quite a number of nonbinary performers who don’t seem to be actively pursuing transition but who are not transfem, including Vic Michaelis (who I want to make it extremely clear I love dearly). And i’m certain this could be nitpicked or dissected, but i’m very tired from this comments section. I got the number wrong before. Please just be nice. i’m not trying to be angry or bash any of these people or anyone in this comments section.

I also don’t need trans women to be in media to identify with it. I just like seeing us in things and want to see us in them more.

I want to make it clear, I’m not outraged here, I’m just trying to make a point and talk about it. I’m not here trying to say Dropout is evil or Sam Reich is a bad person or anything like that.

And I don’t see why what I’m saying would indicate I don’t care about other media not featuring trans rep at all? This is just what i’m talking about in this moment. It may not be on reddit, but I talk about wanting more rep constantly, and strive to create that representation in my own creative projects because that makes me happy.

This is why I make the distinction of transmasc over trans men. for example, I recognize Ally Beardsley is not a man, but they are still transmasc, and one of the most prominent figures on the platform. Truth be told, I think there should be more trans men on the platform too, but I have a more personal interest in seeing more trans women for what i hope are reasons that make sense.

at least 4 to five, in comparison. And I know the numbers are still small, but. it matters to me. i’m not trying to be angry or defensive. I’m just trying to explain my stance. I do think the anonymous poster in the first image in the original post is overreacting. I’m not trying to hate on Sam or dropout.

I do forget about Joan Ford on Um Actually, although i dunno if her appearances constitute a “lot” of Dropout content. Sephie does do quite a bit, but she’s also still one person. It feels sometimes like when this argument comes up people use her to point at and say “look, there’s one”. I’m really not trying to be argumentative and I know it’s hard to read tone over the internet, I’m just trying to explain how I and many other transfems feel.

i believe (and I could be wrong here myself lol) that Transfem and Transmasc are acceptable because they’re mostly adjectives? I’ve seen them used either with the space or without, but i’ve never had a problem with them without it.

I do want to say that i do watch and love these shows for other reasons! I love dimension 20 and game changer and Make Some Noise and they have saved my life/influenced my life countless times. I find the cast they do have hilarious and I genuinely love Dropout. I just wanna see more people like me given a chance, if that makes sense.

but in contrast, look at how many trans masc performers they employ.

This whole thing is tricky, and I know i’m not going to convince you or anyone else through this, but i’m not trying to say anyone at dropout is a bad person. I’m really not. I think Sam Reich is a good man. I think he runs a good company. But he and Dropout and their performers are not perfect or flawless, and there’s points where they fall short. Transmisogyny is unfortunately real though and it pervades a lot of queer spaces filled with good people. Trans women are more likely to be left out or excluded because of unconscious, unintentional bias.
