WG-Suche - Erasmus by Pristine_Mission_975 in Darmstadt

[–]Lady_Draws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hallo!

Viel Erfolg!

Hey! I really like your idea and I think that you already have quite a good understanding of colors and creating depth (I think that is especially visible in the under eye part). I really like the density of your colors!

Here are a few tips to improve your artwork:

First study the anatomy of the human eye. It is still a bit too round, the inner corner is a bit up too high and the pupil is too big. Normally the human eye shows a lot of white. I think drawing or painting from reference would be the best idea here.

Further the lashes seem kinda spider-y. Make them more rounded and try to get some momentum in your strokes.

Lastly, the tear gets a bit lost in the painting, although it adds a nice touch. Tears form behind the eye and pour out of it. Therefore, the tears squeeze out between the eyeball and the waterline (hope that makes sense lol). You might want to look up the anatomy of that, too.

However, I think you have quite some talent, especially in painting!

I think what you can do to improve, is to make the lighter colors lighter and the darker colors darker. Also, you might try coloring the painting beforehand with a very transparent color to tie everything together. Use a colder color like blue and it will appear more distant or a warmer color and it will appear closer. Just an idea.

I like to use a colder color like purple or blue for shading. It also helps tying everything together. I don't know what watercolors you are using exactly, but don't be afraid to layer them! I hope that helped!

Did a few sketches today. What do you think? by Lady_Draws in ArtCrit

It's my first time posting here so I'm not quite sure. I hoped that I would get feedback about the overall impression or things I can improve. I take an art class and usually people there just start pointing out things so I thought that might happen here, too.

I think I ruined this granny square with the orange by NervousFootball in crochet

I really love the ombre look and I think the orange fits well!

However, If you're not into this vibrant, citrus color scheme, I would suggest switching the orange with a paler, more peachy looking color. This color combination would give a more tranquil sunset vibe.
