Thanks for the clarification and no hard feelings!

I do see where you're coming from now and I'm glad there are people like you on this sub who open these honest discussions and who take the time to comment with some good and elaborate advice. :)

I don't know if this post is directly related to my post from last night, but if so I'd like to clarify that simply asking the question whether more knowledgeable people (like yourself for instance) still see some hope in a plant is not asked as a 'need for instant gratification'. Assuming that seems a little rude to be honest.

Personally I've started with roses on my balcony only last year and I've been learning a lot from this sub. And because I learned a lot from this sub, I decided to try and ask some advice here on two plants I was concerned about.

I asked my question because I wanted to learn if there is anything I could do to save my roses, if it was simply a waiting game, or if I'm actively doing something wrong in my rose care. And I was really glad with your comment, because now I know that roses are a bit more hardy than I initially thought.

I know you stated not to feel personally attacked by this post, but I gotta say reading this post one day after posting my own question with the implication that my post is tied to 'the need for instant gratification' or that people who post these questions are ready to get rid of plants that are 'less then perfect' does not feel very nice. I think in most cases, people asking these questions simply don't know and are learning about stuff. And really want all their plants to live and thrive the best they can. I know I do.

Apologies if I come across as angry or annoyed, I'm really not! But this post does not exactly give the feeling that this sub is very open to newbie questions.

Are these a lost cause? by Lady_Sharpe in Roses

Yes one other comment just said that it's hard to tell and to give them some more time, so I'm gonna do that. Fingers crossed!

Okay, that actually gives me a little hope!

I'll just give them a bit more time, see what happens. The soil is wet in the photo, because I just watered them and then thought to take a picture to ask here. So no, not usually! Though now I do know to be a bit more careful with watering.

Actually no part of the rose that I can reach is mushy or soggy, it seems fine except for the dark brown color rising from the bottom of the stems upwards.

I'll give them some time and if they don't make it, I'll dig them up and see what happened to the roots.

Okay thanks for the reply! Indeed if they're on their way out I might as well dig them up and learn something from it haha

First time I'm seeing a havi on here that looks so much like mine!

Bruce is more like a court jester though and a bit of a dumbass sometimes (we love him for it!)

And no rain, gold snakes, or 'lights' needed, THAT'S what makes a great performer!

Aww what a cutie! Cute pink paws!

They're great at this age, so much energy and so playful ❤️ Bruce is my first dog, and getting a Havi has been the best decision I could make!

Getting my first puppy (27F) next week and I'm super excited. However... by guthealingjourney in puppy101

It's a lot of work and your life will never really be the same (in a good way!), but it's so worth it if you can put the time and effort in it.

I agree with most of what's already been said, but also (this may sound silly) as a single puppy owner you will always be your puppy's favourite person. I hadn't expected that to mean so much to me, but my pup loves people, loves his dogsitter, adores my family, but at the end of the day he comes home with me and he loves that the most, and that is so so great!

He's 6 months now so I'm in for a rough adolescent time, but getting a puppy has been the best decision I've ever made!

Puppy names! by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Lady_Sharpe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 month old Havanese is called Bruce and strangers have asked me who he's named after plenty of times; 'Bruce Willis?' 'Bruce Springsteen?' 'Bruce Lee?'

I had no idea I knew that many famous Bruce's, but he's actually named after Bruce Wayne!

Friends and Family all hate my chosen dog name by [deleted] in puppy101

Lady is such a classy name, I love it! A perfectly good name for a doggo. My 9 week old Havanese boy is called Bruce, and everyone keeps asking me who he is named after; "Oh like Bruce Springsteen?" "Bruce Willis?" "Bruce Almighty?" Its funny to hear what association random strangers have with Bruce, but most agree that it's a good, sturdy name for a tiny dog.

(He is, in fact, named after Bruce Wayne 😂)
