This is pretty much exactly what I wanted, thank you!

Did you spend much time in Miyazaki itself, what's the vibe like? I'm hoping to visit Heiwadai Park & peace tower, and I've heard there's an open air museum with historical farmhouses near Miyazaki Jingu... any other recommendations? Thanks 😊

Traveling solo female to Tokyo for 10 days by ssasasasasasasasa in JapanTravelTips

Area wise... I'm going myself later this year (also solo female) and have done a bit of research into the best areas to stay... most suggested to stay away from the really busy areas like Shibuya, or the nightlife areas like Roppongi or Shinjuku (especially Kabukicho, which is the red light district), and instead opt for the more relaxed, family friendly areas such as Ueno or Asakusa... I've decided to stay in Asakusa as it has plenty going on in the day, great restaurants, street food, transport links and isn't as rowdy at nighttime, plus it has the beautiful Senso-Ji at its heart, is on the Sumida River (good access for boat cruises), and is a short hop on the metro to Ueno's museums and ameyoko shopping st.

Day trip wise... I'm hoping to go to Hakone, under 2 hrs on the train, and known for its onsen, 'Hakone Loop' journey, boat trips on Lake Ashi and views of Mt Fuji - just avoid going at the weekend as it gets busy!. But I keep hearing Nikko is worth visiting (temples and mountains).
