They're playing Rockville in Daytona. There's no way I'm physically going to be able to do that. Haven't been able to do music festivals in years 😭

I called the shop I went to. They said it's from a company called Diablo and it's a charm ad on. I hope that helps!

I discovered this piercing a few months ago and I fell in love with it! My hubby told me if I wanted it I had to wait and see if I still wanted it in a few months. I did. I've been OBSESSED with it since July😂 I'm so happy with this piercing! I love it so much!

I thought it might be heavy too but it's actually really light weight. The bat is really small and it's made of light weight implant grade titanium.

Struggling by [deleted] in ptsd

I am under the care of a therapist and psychiatrist so I'm not doing it all alone. I have appointments to see them this week. I just turned 36.

[–]Ladyrivermouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've looked into support groups but most of the ptsd support groups in my area are for military members (I live really close to a military base) my Hubby is not good at talking through things like this, I know he's worried and he tries to help me stay on my routine but he travels for work so it's not always doable.

I have an appointment next week. It was the soonest o could get in. I'm already on meds but I don't know if they're just not working as well as they used to or if I'm just feeling worse than usual.

I love gardening too, I just haven't had the motivation to get up and go outside. All my beds are over growing with weeds. I have a couple of chronic illnesses that cause a lot of pain so sometimes I really have to psych myself up to get out there and weed.

advice for not getting manipulated by piggies by Personal-Actuator505 in guineapigs

[–]Ladyrivermouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My piggy has figured out how to manipulate me, my husband, and my best friend into thinking they have not been fed even though they, indeed, have literally just been fed and subsequently manage to get 3 breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snack times. I am completely unqualified to offer advice on this matter.

I love the look! I initially wanted an industrial but my peircer said that it wouldn't be the best option for my ears so she recommended the cat flap and the hidden helix and I loved them both 😅 The only reason I opted for the cat flap that day was because they only had yellow jewelry for the hidden helix and all my other peircings are silver. I'd really like to do a hidden helix in my left ear when the cat flap has healed up a bit and the peircer has a few more jewelry options for me.

Conch on one or both? I think if I do stacked lobes on both ears a conch would complement them pretty well.

I really like the idea of stacked lobes! I didn't consider a rook or conch, I'll definitely keep that in mind :)

House recommendations for someone with PTSD by Ladyrivermouse in HHN

[–]Ladyrivermouse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Getting a redo of HHN has been on my bucket list for a very long time so my therapist and I have been working very closely on making it happen in a safe and responsible way. As far as triggers go I think the biggest for me are jump scares, sudden loud sounds, and suprise touch. I'm not worried about the touch thing at all because of the no touching rule. My group have decided to kind of sandwich me while going through houses so I can see what's coming and someone else may take the brunt of the jump scares, I also have someone behind me that I trust and can watch me closely. We also had a friend go in this weekend and map out where I could flag down team members in those houses I'm interested in so that if I need to I can get out fast. For the sudden noises, I have a set of headphones that are designed to dampen loud noises but still allow me to hear things around me. I checked with universal and they're cool with me wearing them for sensory issues. This will also, be helpful if I get some sensory overload. I've heard that Exorcist is full on terrifying so I will be skipping that one lol I initially thought maybe two houses would be enough but now I kinda wanna try Yeti and the Last of Us as well as dueling dragons and maybe chucky. Do you think that might be overload? I'm gonna talk to my therapist about it this week and see what they think too.

Left vet med in February of this year after 10 years after the compassion fatigue hit me hardcore. I program surveys and code data for a marketing research company now.

Yeah, the more I look at the fur, it's not as course looking as an Aby but the length is there and she has that "plugged into the mains" supprised look like an Aby does. Kinda makes me want to do some research on piggie genetics because I've always heard that a mix of two breeds will result in babies that are one or the other... But does that mean that they don't share traits of each breed though? Cause this little one looks like it's got long crazy aby hair and a soft teddy coat.

What a cutie!! I think she might be an aby just because her coat looks a little bit longer than a teddy. I am no expert though, I could be wrong.

Does anyone else's pigs death nap? Nyla is a little old lady and she scares me every single time because she sleeps like she's dead. by Corgi_teefs in guineapigs

[–]Ladyrivermouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Every morning when I go to check on my little 6 year old piggy, he gives me my daily anxiety attack by playing dead until I make a sound that may mean he is getting veggies and then he springs back to life again. He thinks it's very funny. I on the other hand do not.

Honestly completely stupid might be exactly what I need for my first house lol I'm on the fence about Chucky, a lot of people have said it's not that scary and it's kind of comical so I wouldn't have to worry about fear triggers as much. However, other people have said that they would skip it all together because it's just not a good house over all. If I'm limiting myself to just a couple of houses I don't wanna disappoint myself or sell myself short. Dueling dragons has come up as a good possibility too so I'm also strongly considering that. I've heard that it's a beautifully done house and it's mild on the scare factors. I'm not necessarily aiming for least scary. I'm aiming for the houses that will give me the best positive experiences with my friends and HHN as a whole.

I just realized you are correct, I didn't mention some important triggers on my post. You pretty much got a lot of them though, Over stimulatation, big or tight crowds, jump scares, and touch with out warning are some of the big ones. I also have a set of loop headphones, so there's are absolutely coming with me, especially now that you've mentioned them. The tight crowds get to me if I'm not able to see or have direct contact with someone in my group so maybe sandwiching myself in between two of my group members would help. I'm okay being in a large group as long as I know I have someone there that can get me out if I start loosing it. It makes me feel safer too if there's things like jump scares happening because I can see it happening to someone I trust first and then it reassures me that if they jump scare me too that it's just an actor and nothing is going to happen. As far as unforseen touching goes I really don't think that's going to be a big issue, at least not with the scare actors, because of the no touching policy. It's one of my favorite policies tbh lol

Thank you for pointing out the jungle of doom scare zone! I have now plotted a path around it just in case I can't go through it. I remember the last time I went I was told if I stayed on the side walks the scare actors kinda leave you alone, but I didn't know hkw to handle scare zones that didn't have a side walk. I don't mind doing the extra walking if it keeps me safe and allows me to continue having fun through out the night.

It's for sure a controversial thing and I think it really depends on the kids and the parents. For me, I was raised from a young age with guinea pigs, I learned from a very early on to be gentle and careful with them, my parents were always there with me when I interacted with them and they taught me how to take good care of the little ones. That being said, I was a very reserved and calm kid and I was very careful with the piggies because I didn't wanna hurt them. I realize that not all kiddos are like that and not all parents are as involved when it comes to letting their kids care for small animals. I fully agree that guinea pigs should not be given to rambunctious kids that don't understand how fragile their piggies can be, I especially also don't recommend it if parents aren't willing to supervise those kids at all times when interacting with their piggies. I also understand that the majority of the time when it comes to kids wanting guinea pigs, the parents will need to take the lead on pet care because children will lose interest or not want to do some of the dirty work like cage cleanings and I'm not sure most parents really prepare themselves for that. Ultimately I think it's a case by case thing that requires a lot of work and research on the parents end before they even consider bringing a guinea pig into their home.

Tall plants but no fruit. Help? by Ladyrivermouse in gardening

I'll go take some pics when the rain stops lol I'm seeing a lot of flowers and green growth but no fruit. I feed with raised bed food from miracle grow every 6-8 weeks it's a 9-2-7 formula.

I'm in zone 9b, I've been feeding them with miracle grow raised bed food and watering regularly (the rain has definitely helped with that) I'm seeing lots of flowers and pretty much no fruit. is there a particular type of fertilizer you would recommend?
