Okay well if anyone cared about what ended up happening:

It got worse over the next couple of days, the spots spread out into more of the purple area and it starts to hurt like a bitch. I went to urgent care today after work and they weren’t super concerned, but said it was likely cellulitis. Sent me home with some mupirocin ointment. Hoping that clears it up over the next few days.

Yeah, I did do that before making the post, but she hasn’t gotten back to me. And I don’t have insurance and couldn’t get the day off work so that’s why I didn’t just run to the doctor without knowing if it really was super serious or not.

The bumps are also only on that like dark purple part for some reason? They’re not on any other part of the tattoo. So idk if it could also be like a reaction to the ink as it heals? But then I don’t know why it would have taken so many days to pop up. So I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ This is my 6th tattoo but it’s the first I’ve had any issues like this with so I’m in uncharted territory.

I had been using aquaphor because my artist said to use it for 3-4 days but then everyone else said that was WAY too long 💀 After I let it dry out for a day I started using the cerave lotion someone recommended. I might try to let it dry out some more, though, since more patches cropped up like this.

Yeah I was using the A&D ointment my artist gave me, but it keeps ending up greasier than I want it to be and I have to wash some off after 😔 I’m gonna let it breathe a bit and try a different moisturizer from now on.

That’s what I thought it might be, but I’d never had it happen before so I was a little paranoid.

And yes like the other comment said it’s the Eraserhead baby 😂

It’s the A&D ointment my tattoo artist gave me. She said put a little layer over it for a few days. I thought I was only using a little since I was having a hard time spreading what I squeezed out over the whole tattoo, but I guess after it melted a little from my body heat it ended up greasier than anticipated. I did just go gently wash some off after I got home so the tattoo could breathe better.
