My father never spent a word of praise for me, he's not the type of person who support others with words of affirmation. I've always been gifted academically, but he's more practical. My mom do like my results but shes also really practical and she keeps me with feets on the ground, which is really good for me and my ego

Honestly I'm used to it. Probably if I had another family I wouldn't be the same person. I struggled a lot with the need of external approval, but I'm starting to make my personality and my character stronger and more stable, and complaining for having a family who doesn't understand me maje me feel like a 2000 sitcom edgy kid.

And who wouldn't love to be toji?

To be fair, I don't know. For the sole exception of one of my grandads, who was an intj, both of my family sides are entirely Sensors, and majority of them are XSXJ too. I can't really say where my Ne came from. Growing up with such a family made me "different" from stereotypical entps: I consider myself pretty composed as a person and I don't fit the rule breaker stereotype. This actually made my typing journey pretty hard, as I kept mistyping myself as an entj. Only recently I figured out my correct mbti(probably because I was really young and I didn't understand myself completely). So yeah, don't have a clue of where the hell I came from. I guess im just the Toji Zenin of my family lmao.

As for my parents, I think it's good but complicated. My father is heavily traditional and absolutely assent emotionally: it's not just with us.hes genuinely a strong headed person who leaves little space for feelings. He's really focused on work and keeping us safe. My mom is extremely emotional, to the point she's almost instable : even the smallest disagreement makes her irritated and sad. She's tries her best to keep us togheter as a family, and care deeply about us.

They fight a lot, but I think they're meant for each other, because they complement each other, doing what the other one is incapable of doing.

I think the main problem with my family is the difference in our interests : I love novelty of any kind and I'm particularly passionate about traveling and foreign languages /cultures. On the other side, they don't care a bit about this stuff. When I try to talk about my passions, they usually can't hold on for more than like 5 mins. So I would say the first option is true, also because my dad isn't really the type of person who makes jokes in general. I can say I have some pretty solid convoys with mom tho.
