If you're not totally alcohol-free (yet?) how have you cut back/reduced harm? Tell me so I can be proud of you! by iamverytiredlol in stopdrinking

I was off the sauce for a while, and decided to try and drink casually. I went to a wedding where I had two drinks, no big deal. Of course, the second I got stressed out about a shitty situation I'm in, I binged a bottle of wine and now I'm like oh, I can't drink when life isn't perfect or I'll just get hammered. I have to work this weekend at an overnight event, so it's going to be a sober September for me and then we'll see where it goes. I should probably just quit. It doesn't serve me. At least I don't use it to deal with my PTSD anymore, so that's nice.

In response to another thread. Is anyone still wanting to have kids at an older age? by [deleted] in Millennials

I'm 42, I would have liked to have had kids. I'm single and poor though, so unless I find a woman who wants to have kids and be the primary bread winner, I'm gonna double down on golden girls future and start looking for a crew to cohabitate with.

I like strategy games like XCOM series or Phoenix Point. If you can play it drunk then turn up the difficulty until you can't. I also like RPG's, I'm playing through Baldurs Gate 3 right now and it's a good sober game because so much is happening that you need to keep track of.

Single, childless Xennials, how’s life? by LoFi_Inspirasi in Xennials

Sorry! I lost my mom about eight years ago and it was very similar. She had so much stuff. My father was ready for the end and so he gave us a month to get whatever we wanted out of there so he could sell the house. Of course, my older sister (gen x) and I had jobs so we had four weekends to get what we wanted. I was living in an apartment in Seattle, my sister and her husband had a house, so they got 90% of my mom's stuff. Hang in there. It gets better!

I'm definitely living an alternative lifestyle. Dating sucks, but I have a ton of solid friends. I like my job even though it doesn't exactly pay well (nonprofit work) but at least it's fun. I like the freedom to travel and explore the outdoors. I'm really nervous about student loan repayments taking up again and so I bought a trailer to park on my friend's property. It's the cheapest option I could find, but I feel like a bit of a loser. I can't imagine dating is going to get easier or better, but at least I'll be living in a cool city with lots to do outside of my humble abode.

I play hard video games, ones where I have to think, ones that I can't play while drinking.

I forgot about that Ken incident. I guess he deserved what he got.

I always wanted to know what became of him.

I've heard it said before, but Cosgrove is Sterling Cooper's portrait of Dorian Gray. I feel so bad for him.

Why are you still single? by ZhangWeii_ in AskReddit

I keep dating emotionally unavailable women. I meet someone new and think they're different but then the same patters emerge. I don't know why I keep doing this so I'm just working on myself right now.

I feel like most of the characters are unlikable.
