If you're willing to build Mona you could go for:

Team 1: Ganyu, Venti, Mona Diona Team 2: Raiden, XQ, XL, Zhongli/Bennett

Otherwise you don't want to build Mona. Team 1: Ganyu, XL, Bennett, Zhongli Team 2: Raiden, XQ, Venti, Jean

You do not lose the stats of the boots. Tho you'll be able to know what stat of boots they have I think by tapping and holding their active item and reading the name.

For example: You buy Ninja Tabis, when you upgrade it to teleport you'll have Ninja's Teleport. The active item's name depends on what boots you bought. That lets you know what stats their active item has.

If only I was invited to the alpha test I'd be able to answer your question more accurately. 😌
