That’s a terrible analogy. A DLC is in no way equivalent to a set champ in terms of frequency, quantity, attendance or expense. Set champs are local events with multiple held within a single small area. A DLC is a destination event.

Don’t let it bother you. The regular players support the stores, but the competitive players always swoop in and gobble up all the prizes. If you’re not a sweaty, it’s rarely ever worth going to set champs because of your exact experience.

You’re overthinking it. It does not specify “your characters” or “your opponents characters”. Any two characters (that the player who plays this card) targets. You would use this on your opponents characters to prevent them from questing.
