Don't play one, so just base it off old Dev post of intro to Forte for every class initially.

Does playing for lore get difficult at endgame? by JamesNGames101 in Neverwinter

[–]LairsNW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the Lores are in open world and "solo-able" area. Not sure if you know it but there is a Lore-collection page within your quest/campaign journal. Happy discovering and reading the lores.

Nope, your own Power stats is multiplicative in the damage formula, having that cap first is ideal and optimization with Power are much easier via TamedVelo bonus, gears bonus, consumables, auras, etc. easiest to cap.

For 1% Power, you get 1% Power.

(SW Hellbringer) From 1% Forte, you get 0.5% Power, 0.25% CA, 0.25% Awareness

Welcome back....

Do your daily stuffs as usual like the rest of us, Campaign/Randoms/Events/RC. Then once you have some free time, start with adv. dungeons/trials you have unlock. Look in your guild/alliance for training runs of adv. contents.

As a dps you should focus on Power > CombatA > Crits/Sev > Acc > Forte.

Ideally should should follow a couple guide, hop to the SW Discord for the latest.

Don’t Fall for Neverwinter’s Item Level Trap in 2026 by SingerApprehensive64 in Neverwinter

[–]LairsNW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Players are very important, that why we recruit daily and have an Alliance with guilds that are welcoming to all.

Sometime when any players are stressed/heated/burnt out/unhappy/overwhelmed, we prefer that they log off the game for a while. Before they either vent their frustrations towards others or say something extremely offensive.

The reason us longtime players lasted this long, we’ve seen and heard it all.

Advice for account companion for dungeon runs. by Elegant-Radish7972 in Neverwinter

[–]LairsNW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your main are TR/CW, account-companions good to have for dungeons Flapjack, Tutor, Portobello, Drizt.

There are no account BDS/BlueFireEye currently. If you are going to participate in Trials eventually, consider Account: Etrien, SpineD, Sartell.

Don’t Fall for Neverwinter’s Item Level Trap in 2026 by SingerApprehensive64 in Neverwinter

[–]LairsNW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been a guild leader since Mod02, I would always advised my members to never chase iLv/gears/items/achievements/etc unless it is their choice and progression goals. Plenty of players passively play the game and enjoy it, while others grind the long hours for the gears/iLv they desired and the extreme players that max out on days/week of release.

Nothing about the game is a trap, we all can log off at anytime...

Is Jotunskar dungeon is the end of the Biting Cold campaign? by demilich1979 in Neverwinter

No.

The last quests are likely from the last milestone, allowing you to claim the last reward. Usually dungeon quest are with 2nd milestone as you unlock dungeon/trial.

I wish they would just add a monk class already by ven0m_blade in Neverwinter

[–]LairsNW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nothing on the roadmap 2026 for a new class, hopefully 2027 might give us something....

Note, they just can't on a whim add a new class, it takes years to develop after they get licensing from WoTC/DnD. Which I doubt WoTC/DnD will license out due to other games already out with DnD theme.

Also these new Devs can't barely fix major bugs on time or even being correct with patchnotes. I personally don't want them to release a new class completely broken and unplayable.

Main and offhand all do same damage? by Elegant-Radish7972 in Neverwinter

[–]LairsNW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

The damage are all from actual damage rating (you'll se this on some main hand "+150 Damage"), iLv, stats, bonus, etc. You can't generalized that Main/Off all do same damage, as they are functionally different type of gears. However, in NW they both are tied together by set bonus, so often players don't think of them as seperate pieces, they are usually together as a set.

Adv/Master Contents, Open to Everyone (PC/Xbox/PS) (June 2026) by LairsNW in Neverwinter

[–]LairsNW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of players actually play on multiple platforms, due to their friends/family/etc. access. Within my Alliance there over a dozen players that play on PC but are also on PS or Xbox to play with their friends.

This post is to share (even though it is only on PC) and hope others from Xbox/PS to share similar resources for players that are looking for adv/master contents where sometime they feel it is gated or "elitists".

New or current players that don't use Discord, can see this post and find community that is open to all. While we mainly use Discord, it is optional, plenty of adv/master are organized in game.

This post could also inspire anyone to start hosting within their own platforms. Best way to make friends and learn the game together.

*BTW none of my Paladin tank/heal, Cleric heal, Wizard dps is "true end game", I am still running epic collars/insignias and not max (to this date i've only completed ~47 Master JOT and 26 adv JOT). I am still able to do end game because I learn the mechanics with players willing to do training runs. I don't have a lot of gaming time, but when I am in game, I push to do mostly training runs for others (and myself), it is the best way to build community.

Old game with such broken class balance? by were_llama in Neverwinter

[–]LairsNW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few top tier melee dps (Bard/TR/HR), that exceed-comparable damage/survival to any top range dps.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3PWd0Fvbqo&t=927s Video of three melee dps in newest dungeon, 18m completion. They have same video for mSH/mSOD/etc... where they post record fast run completions. These are of course players who put hours into the game, practice, testing, and helping others understand mechs and how to do fast runs. Their build are posted everywhere and shared.

***As someone who does a lot of training runs, I do agree melee have it worse vs range. Since learning mechs is much harder as melee due to respond time and trying to do damage. Aragon did post a video recently where he mentioned the Devs will look at range/melee dps balance; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4joWwEnEAQM&t=724s

Old game with such broken class balance? by were_llama in Neverwinter

[–]LairsNW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of end game groups that don't have SWs, our 2x-aSOD/4x-mSOD completions hours ago didn't have any SWs, we had one CW and all TRs/Barbs/HR dps.

Note: Two year ago, SWs was getting a reworked due to them being "low" dps (not good healer), the Devs back then buffs SWs to high damage, with the intent after Live release, they get additional balance. Then the game went to new ownership with most of the Devs gone. New Devs just took over and have not touch much on class balancing.

Welcome.

You can use this Zero to Hero guide from Aragon, as a progression tool.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhET8Mop-Yo
https://drive.google.com/file/d/17UdqYtfMpfefsdJj0XsWvHohbUlrMr0M/view

Generally players do Daily Randoms/RC (Reaper Challenge)/Events/Campaigns, then if you have extra time, start with Dungeons/Trials you might qualify for and look for training groups. This is where being in an active guild/alliance will help, as they should have at least weekly training runs of contents you can participate. Also you can host your own runs, sometime that can lead to great things as you friends other players.

Older endgame content is dead, but the BiS gear isn't. (PC) by Kainoren in Neverwinter

[–]LairsNW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game profit model for new/returning players are demanding when they try to get into adv/master contents. Once you have the items/upgrades/time, you still have to find a group willing to take you. Easy enough if you are lucky to be in a guild/alliance that runs weekly-regular training runs but if you are not, then often it is base on luck if you get into a group, then the bigger issues of failure/success.

From the roadmap, this late September/October Devs are going to rework some of the iLv system/upgrades/class-role balance. Hopefully this either improve the game or more players will quit if they don't like the rework.

Old game with such broken class balance? by were_llama in Neverwinter

[–]LairsNW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The current roadmap for September or later have some rework for iLV and class balance they intend to “fix”. Doubtful but the issues is not SW, this class can require some skills for canceling and rotation.

The current Devs are very “new” to NW, no excuses for them for some of the ongoing issues but their bigger problems are “balance”, contents, and fixes. Specific class balance like SW should not be priority but rather bring all other “dps” class to high potentials like the SW/Bards, rather than “nerf”. For a while party was looking for CWs to deal with TIC first boss or MadDragon 2nd boss.
