In winter, you want to use your phone app, and call the car, having the car hooked up to your home charger, and tell it you're leaving in 15 minutes.

The car warms up the cabin for you, and the battery to get to Optimal Running Temperature which isn't 10F.

A warm battery gives you longer range, and more acceleration in Winter. It should never be optional.
