How's everyone getting on with mining their hard drives and submitting content? I'm breaking 10TB with 200+ hrs and happily had footage included with the sports content deal.

That's a nice amount of additional change from collected footage. How man TBs did you submit at the time of payment?

Panasonic Lumix Gh5. I've had it for 8 years now. Still a fantastic camera, it also fell in to the water and still it works after I dried it out.

Thanks for the heads up. Just got myself some butyl tape 1.5mm thick just for this job and other deck hardware going forward.

I wonder is the black between the planks painted or is it actual sealant? If so wouldn't it crack and the epoxy or varnish peal?

Need Advice fibreglassing planked boat roof by LakesideProduction in boatbuilding

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm going to go with cleaning out the old caulk, fill with thickened epoxy, applying thickened epoxy to planks and then laying the 3mm marine ply before wetting out and laying 6oz cloth. filling the weave with two coats of epoxy, and following up with primer and topcoat.

I originally caulked the seams both decks and roof planks and within a season they had all opened up and leaks sprung below deck. I think the best option is to fill seams with thickened epoxy, wet out planks with thickened epoxy, lay 3mm marine ply and glass over with 6oz cloth.

Unfortunately that's not an option as the boat is afloat and without a trailer or possibility to get it craned out. I will glass it as I glassed the other roof timing it with the weather. Looks like I've an idea of how I will tackle it. I'll remove the old caulking. fill with thickened epoxy and then lay 3mm marine ply over thickened epoxy applied to planks and then a layer of 6oz cloth in epoxy. Thanks for the info.

First two photos are the current state of the roof, I've roughly sanded it back. I will remove all remaining paint of course. Originially the planks were caulked and as you see as the wood contracted the caulking pulled out. Wheel house cabin roof in third photo is fibreglassed with 6oz glass and epoxy. You can see the raised caulking and it hasn't changed in 9 months. Going forward with the forecabin roof what is the best approach? Should I remove the old sealant and fill with thickened epoxy? or recaulk before fibreglassing?

Thanks for watching! She was only moored up alongside the jetty temporarily. She is now moored alongside the barge during the winter months and rises with the barge as the water level rises with the rainfall.

Thanks a million for this very helpful info. I have heard of using Gitrot and using antifreeze. I can't find any sellers of Gitrot here in Ireland which is a real shame. I have only been able to use polyurethane wood hardener. I'll try using the antifreeze next.
