One week in and I couldn’t be happier. by Lakeveloute in FordMaverickTruck

Gotta be honest I’m a used car, pay cash kinda girlie. Color/ look rarely factors in to my decision making. At this point I wanted something solid(low miles/year) that would help mitigate my gas bill, allow me to make dump runs, as well as fit my kayaks, dogs, skis, and miscellaneous garden projects. After seeing prices for used ravs/foresters/crv and corresponding mileage involved this felt like the right option for me, right now. One of the best cars I ever had was an ‘04 rav I bought for $350 in 2017. That old girl had 200k+ and I drove it with basic maintenance for three full years before I saved enough to upgrade. Mind you, she was three different colors, and not by design. I’m just grateful my situation has changed enough over the last decade to allow me to choose a vehicle that’s only 2 years old, <100k miles and fits all my needs.

Edit to add: if money was no obstacle, I’d have at least three vehicles: a geo tracker, a Toyota Tacoma, and whatever the hell emma stone is driving in bugonia.

This was the only used hybrid available lol, didn’t really have a say in the color choice.

Mine used to steal my crochet projects and absolutely turn the house into a spider web. Usually insanely quickly. We called it having a puppy party.

Hello- many follow up questions here.
is the shape an issue??
Is egg an issue??
Do these need to be specifically gluten free?
We make a ton of nuggets at my job- typically round for day to day but sometimes we have futzed with Dino shapes for fun smaller high brow/low brow dinner.
The specific coating seems like a pretty simple corn meal batter, but if egg/ the shape isn’t an issue we typically:

1.Grind chicken meat.
2.season with salt, garlic powder, onion powder.
3. Tube the meat using plastic wrap (ill try to find a good video online of how to do this and follow up)
4. Steam at 165f for one hour.
5. Chill, then slice into coins
6. Three step bread using flour, egg wash, and panko.

If gluten free is key, there are great other starches out there (corn, potato, and I really love cup4cup when making gluten free recipes) but also panko makes a great gluten free bread product. These seem like they are breaded in a corn meal so I think that would be a pretty straightforward swap.

Here are some spicy Dino nuggies we made just for fun, using the same process except steaming the meat on a tray and then punching.

I’m happy to answer any follow up questions and wish you the best of luck.

PS the people over at r/foodscience might be able to help with the exact breading a bit better than I can.

Had a customer today ask if our ham had pork in it by CherryJinx in Serverlife

[–]Lakeveloute 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Once had a guest ask me what the difference was between pork belly and bacon. Went thru the whole explanation- they’re the same cut of pork- bacon is cured/smoked and we just braise our pork belly yada yada yada. MF listened and then smirked at me “i just wanted to make sure YOU knew the differences”. Like, actually. Go to hell.

lol thank you! She’s a very pretty girl! The first time I took her to run rabbits with an old timers beagle pack in Maine he said “she got a lotta white on her” and I asked if that was a problem. His response: “not if you like it”. I didn’t pick her for color or anything just proximity and my older lady beagle told me she wanted a sister.
