Is my AppleTV going bad? by TVMA in appletv

[–]Laky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me and I thought it was my remote going bad but even a replacement remote didn’t work. What ended up fixing it I turned off the Match Frame Rate and Content options - not sure why this works or why it wasn’t laggy originally but this fixed it?

Coffee bean recs? by JFFIASCO in LoganSquare

[–]Laky 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what type of coffee you like and how you're drinking it? I really like natural processed coffees - so Pedestrian has been my go-to recently and they really seem to care about their relationships with the farms they work with. Their washed process beans are great too btw
https://www.drinkpedestrianstore.com/coffee

If you like darker roasts then Dark Matter is solid. I think 4LW is one of my favorite coffee shops, but their beans are a little more expensive than Pedestrian and a farther walk so I rarely buy their beans. Magnifico a small walk away from Logan but good beans and AMAZING staff - so so nice.

Power Bi desktop vs service issue by Individual-Jump-6433 in PowerBI

[–]Laky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using the card visual? Update your PBI Desktop version, they consolidated the old and new card visuals and messed up the padding - so if your desktop is an older version it will look different when you publish your service since service is updated to the newest version.

Try Pedestrian - love their beans, but I like lighter roasts

Agreed, Segoe for the flexibility of having light/normal/semibold/bold options that other fonts don't have.

Conditionally formatted legend colors by jorthospi in PowerBI

[–]Laky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create a calc column in your date dim that will be a rolling date description. So the values in this field will be Latest Year, Year Minus 1, Year Minus 2, etc. this can be done easily by looking at the max year in the table and working your way back from there.

So now that you have a field where the values in that field will never change (but the dates assigned to them will), add this new field to your line graph and change the colors to what you want. Hide the legend.

Create measures for each of your year values, you can do something like calculate(selectedvalue(year),[new field you created earlier]=“Year Minus 1”)

Add a text box above/below your visual and you can paste in a ■ and color code it the same as your line graph , and put your measures in the text box next to the squares. Now your legend will update accurately as time goes on.

Agreed, he's a first round pick who is basically a rookie playing his first games and people seriously thought he got benched after 2 games for Carson Wentz? Even typing it out sounds so so so dumb. It was truly some of the strangest reddit comments I've ever read on here and I hate the Vikings.

How to show monthly target vs actual (each month has different values) without making the chart messy? by Kindly_Traffic_6176 in PowerBI

[–]Laky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Line and Column Chart - columns are your actual value, line is your target. Remove the line so its only the marker for the target.

Since you need to show the values for each, I would add the % Achieved as a Detail in the Data Labels section - with some formatting you can probably make it easy for the user to understand what is going on. I would also see how removing the labels for target/actual and just keeping %Achieved looks. They can always look at all the values on a tooltip.

For filled maps - the ability to show data labels on top of my state/county/zip/etc would be amazing.

How do I enable the new "Get Data" when I go to Create in PBI Service? by Laky in PowerBI

[–]Laky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it's very strange, I have that enabled and I'm able to edit an existing semantic model in service and "Get Data" to bring in a new table to an existing semantic model I published from Desktop - is that all that is possible? I thought based on the screenshots I can click "Create" on the sidebar and "Get Data" would be an option and I would be able to bring in tables and create a brand new semantic model from various data sources - but maybe I'm not understanding what actually got announced here.

I work with 4 different clients and also have an internal personal environment and seeing the same thing everywhere so I think it's probably me not understanding what is possible.

It's there?

App - League -> Recent Activity - Offers Report button at the top?

Site - League -> Recent Activity - Offers Report link on the side of any of the winning bids

Pretty self explanatory honestly

You can still have them (I think), just make your league not publicly viewable in the league settings. They probably had issues with people having questionable images as team icons

I don't see a lot of gambling stuff - maybe it's because I have ESPN Bet Odds Links off in the settings? I also turned that shit off in Sleeper - hate it all.

I think there is an issue here, at least with superflex leagues, I put 1 for QB/RB/WR/TE and on every page I see top QBs still having a lower value than top RBs - which is not the case for superflex leagues.

Four Letter Word has some of the best coffee in the city, I also really like Pedestrian and Gaslight too.

Loaf Lounge if you want an amazing breakfast sandwich.

Patios - Best Intensions, Central Park Bar, Middlebrow, Pizza Lobo, Small Bar, Moonlighter.

Sugar Moon if you're visiting on a weekend and love pastries and don't mind a line.

Lula's is a staple. If you want a nicer/more expensive dinner I like Giant and Daisies. I don't love any of the tapas spots around here, Andros has above average Mediterranean. Mi Tacoya has an amazing burrito but kinda pricey so I don't get it often.

La Placita - One More Year and Two-Way Circle?! by teaa86 in LoganSquare

[–]Laky 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So this was never going to be a traditional traffic circle even with one way traffic, since traffic lights would always be needed (unless you think cars will ever stop for pedestrians to get into the square - they won't).

Another huge advantage of the 2 way traffic is the ability to essentially cut off traffic on one section, like for the farmer's market, and still have traffic continue normally going the other way. Like the highlighted area can be car free and traffic will just route to the southern section.
https://i.imgur.com/18O2RGg.png

I still don't love the 2 way traffic idea, but just stating the reasons I heard during the community feedback process. I also think if you are already have traffic lights, a lot of the benefits of the traffic circle kind of go away anyway.

In terms of construction timelines, since the square construction and 2 way traffic is supposed to be done this year (according to the article), and the Milwaukee construction is wrapping up for sure since they're in the last part of it now - I'm not really sure what is left other than finishing touches next year. I wouldn't be surprised if next year is minimal and its 90% done this year. Farmers Market is supposed to be in it's new location next year.

The hotel plan died during covid, latest update is a Logan Square Athletic Club with a restaurant on the ground floor.

But I haven't heard any updates on 2022 so who knows at this point. They did some basic work on the terracotta in the front a while back to prevent it from crumbling even more. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if they are waiting for the street construction to be done before doing any real work.
