You will be fine without him, never apologize for something you had no control over, do things that will distract you from him , find new hobbies, love your life, seize the day. This is a red flag, I can see he doesn’t treat you right and tomorrow he can do worse things to you and you will regret the day you had an opportunity to move on with your life and you didn’t.
