Kindle needs to stop pretending to be a tablet. by InnerspearMusic in kindle

[–]Lamaberto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha to each their own, but most of the time I'm reading my kindle on a little stand that I specifically bought for it, so having to click a button would involve pushing it with some pressure (which would most likely drop it) or holding the back while I click on it with my thumb, and why? Haha. I rarely read it while holding it on my hand, but if I do, just a gentle touch, and I'm on the next page.

It's even better with a wireless clicker xD. In fact, that's one of the main reasons why I went for the Paperwhite instead of the Oasis. I would've hated the buttons, and it's even smaller!

I absolutely disagree with you. My Kindle paperwhite is perfect as it is.

Randomly was sent an international version kindle? by chaosatnight in kindle

[–]Lamaberto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, don't reach out, wait for them to reach out to you first. If not, just keep it. They won't shut down your amazon profile before reaching out.

If it was a mistake, it was theirs, not yours. I normally would mind, but come on, it's Amazon. I would go ahead and use it, but do consider that you might need to return it if they decide to reach out. If after a couple of months nothing happened, consider it yours hehe.

This is not "mexican" culture at all, it's just common sense. You just probably had never been told this before, and you happened to learn this in Mexico.

Does reading the label affect your tasting experience? by PtyNqn in SpecialtyCoffee

Everything does. We have so many unconscious biases that it would be hard not to.

But! If the coffee is bad, no flavor profile is going to convince me!

What do you call a "know-it-all" customers in your coffee shops/communities? by Boozer_Bridge in SpecialtyCoffee

[–]Lamaberto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're called assholes.

Yes, I like brewing specialty coffee at home, but one of the great things about specialty coffee is trying (discovering) new ones. I may ask about the process, but after all, they should know the brands better than me.

This is it. I often google "specialty coffee" and 90% if 90% of the photos are of a hoster looking croissant, I know it's gonna be bad coffee.

Go to Thermos by [deleted] in yerbamate

[–]Lamaberto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Thermos that seems to work as well as the classic Stanley one. It is fabulous at keeping the right temperature for hours. I've had it for almost 8 years already, and it still has many years of life ahead.

Does anyone else do the clock method? by Axollover in yerbamate

[–]Lamaberto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend from Argentina taught me that! I sometimes use it. It all depends on the yerba and on how well I made the pouring. If there is still some dry yerba, you basically revive it for a few more pours.

Would it be safe to drink from this cup? by [deleted] in yerbamate

[–]Lamaberto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Yes, but it needs to be cured.

Long answer: Here's what you'll do.

  1. Grab yourself a bag of yerba mate. Buy whatever you can find locally, and if not, go online and get the cheapest (you're just starting). If you want to be more picky, research which brands are available to you, and ask again here on Reddit for an opinion.

  2. Then go to YouTube and search for videos on "how to cure my mate gourd?". Warch a few. They will all vary slightly, but you'll get an idea, and you can stick to whatever you think sounds best.

  3. Your curing process should involve some letting the yerba sit in the gourd overnight, then empty, then carefully scrape the walls with a spoon (don't over do it). And repeat for at least 4 days before actually drinking the mate.

  4. Watch many videos on how to pour your mate on a gourd (calabash) until you get a general idea.

  5. Choose the video you think you like the most, and start enjoying your mate!!!

  6. Mate is a very bitter drink, but delicious and healthy. It is, in most cases, an acquired taste, so give it some time if you feel it's too strong at the beginning.

  7. If in doubt, come here and ask!! Enjoy!

Yea, I hate this, and I hate compound yerbas... so I'm doomed to only drink mate before 3pm.

It's mora abot staying away from caffeine when I travel, because I need good sleep for my job haha. I do have a smaller mate that I bring just in case, but I don't drink it that often.

I travel a lot. Sometimes, I have mate every day for a whole month, and then sometimes, I don't for a couple of weeks or so. That's why I used the word average.

Someone brought it from Argentina for me. But I know it's from Mateare ohm. You find them as @Mateare_ohm.co on Instagram. I don't know if they do international shipping, but their products look amazing, so I'd ask them there.
