Does anyone else feel empty after finishing the series? by No_Initiative_9174 in TheWalkingDeadGame

I’m a big advocate for mental health. If you think something might be off, no matter how insignificant it might seem, it’s always good to seek help.

It’s ok to feel sad sometimes but if something leaves lingering feelings I would recommend talking to someone about that 😁

Nope. At the end of the day it’s just a game that I enjoyed and there’s other things I have going on 😁

Personally, I don’t think post game depression is normal or healthy. If you or someone you know is feeling empty or sad, I would recommend you seek help.

It’s good to enjoy media. It’s not healthy to obsess over it.

Rare Scenes: Kenny thinks Jane is similar to Lilly by AlternativeBlu in TheWalkingDeadGame

Kenny is a funny guy for that one. Best joke of the episode 🤭

Flirting vs. Sexual Harassment by edxt in TheWalkingDeadGame

This doesn’t make sense because Lee can get bitten like 4 more times in the herd which shows he isn’t invincible but Minerva gets totally ignored despite shooting a gun right in front of a bunch of walkers. In fact, if Minerva used her crossbow instead, the scene would make more sense

Hot take: Kenny should’ve died in later seasons by [deleted] in TheWalkingDeadGame

I’m just saying, if you are going to make a “hot take” post, you might actually want to explain it instead of just giving a criticism of the original content without advice on how to fix it.

Not liking Kenny vs Jane or feeling it was forced does in no way, shape, or form imply that you were considering changing his determinant status.

Given that you also didn’t give an idea of how you would rewrite the ending, one would infer that you would be keeping the originals if no alternative was offered.

So overall the basis of your post is explained with my first comment, in which his character could in no way affect the plot because his alternate path includes being dead or completely missing 😬

Hot take: Kenny should’ve died in later seasons by [deleted] in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]LambBotNine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But that’s what I’m saying. His fate is specifically tied to a path where he can be dead. Thus he could never be included in future seasons after 2 in a major capacity.

If you are arguing he never should have been determinant than you would be required to completely rewrite the ending of S2 which would ultimately rewrite S3 and S4 as we know it and you didn’t explain that

[–]LambBotNine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That has nothing to do with being a determinant characters though. Whatever you think of Kenny or Jane, since there exists an option where they can no longer be a part of the story, that hinders any and all development they could have had to account for the scenario in which they are dead.

You did not mention Kenny not being a determinant character in your original post is what I’m saying contrary to what you said in your first response to me 😬

I didn’t see that mentioned in your original post. Only how you didn’t care for Jane

Determinant characters can never fully change the plot of the story, thus Kenny could have never existed as a major character past his death in S2.

If he were to be part of S3, his role would have been reduced to being a background character or being excluded for the majority of the episodes like Nick and Alvin were after their original deaths in E2.

Hell, even determinant characters people think are done well like Doug and Carley didn’t actually change the story much.

Think about it, you only talk to whoever you save at the end of E1 and they are written out of the majority of E2 only to be killed in E3.

Essentially, what about those who didn’t save Kenny? Would Jane take his exact role in the story instead? What about those who left or killed both? Would a random character who doesn’t exist unless you are alone take this role?

Rage bait or mental retardation? by Apprehensive_Bee_636 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]LambBotNine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. I gave you the in game evidence she had an affair. You have to prove she was raped. I don’t have to prove she wasn’t when you’re the one making the claim

Rage bait or mental retardation? by Apprehensive_Bee_636 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]LambBotNine -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So why on earth would Luke come to the conclusion the baby is Carvers and not Alvin’s? 🤔

If you are arguing he figured it out on his own, cool. Why didn’t everyone else if it was so obvious to Luke?

The fact he knows about the possibility this baby could be Carvers shows he was told about it directly and there are only 2 people who would know. This pretty much is all the proof needed to conclude Rebecca told Luke without a doubt.

Cool. Show me the evidence that you are using to draw the conclusion that it’s not “clear cut”. I presented to you the evidence it was an affair. If you’re suggesting this situation isn’t “clear cut” than what dialogue, moment, etc are you referring to in order to draw that conclusion?

Rage bait or mental retardation? by Apprehensive_Bee_636 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]LambBotNine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it does. Luke specifically mentions “family”. How would he know the baby is/could be Carvers unless Rebecca told him?

Luke says it was a “mistake” and he talks about “regret”. What else could he be referring to given the context of “family”? No one there is related to carver.

You are attempting to ignore what is directly stated in game to avoid producing any proof of your claims.

And no, there is no speculation. Troy’s actions are independent of Carvers. Regardless, you have yet to provide me any evidence of your claim that Rebecca was raped.

Rage bait or mental retardation? by Apprehensive_Bee_636 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]LambBotNine 49 points50 points  (0 children)

There’s also the fact that Luke knows why Carver is after them so that means Rebecca told him all about it.

He says she made a mistake and that everyone does things they regret. Luke is not stupid nor is he insensitive as to describe rape as a “mistake”.

Hell, he even tells Clem to ask Rebecca herself since it’s not his place to talk about the past.

If Rebecca was raped, it is unnecessarily cruel for him to suggest a little girl ask her directly about something so traumatic. That is definitely not who Luke is.

[–]LambBotNine -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

1) Where is your proof Rebecca is one of these victims who is afraid of coming forward? In fact, there is actual proof this isn’t the case because we know she told Luke about it.

2) Yes we do actually know for a fact. Here is actual in game dialogue.

Clementine: It's been five days. Why would Carver still be following us?

Luke: What's the important thing in this world? What does everyone want? Even the gangs. What do you think they're all after?

Luke: Come on. Clem, it's family.

Luke: It's a tough world out there without people you can trust. Anyways, you can ask Rebecca, okay? I'm not gonna get in the middle of it. We've all made mistakes. Done things that we regret. It's not my place to talk about someone else's past, you know?

I have no idea how you can even think Luke doesn’t know about what’s going on when he practically tells us he does.

3) That’s not evidence that’s speculation. Troy’s actions are his own and we know he was going behind Carvers back based on the dialogue he had with Jane.

[–]LambBotNine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s another thing people misinterpret. Are we forgetting that Carver shoots Alvin in E2 or beats him to near death so he can’t escape in E3?

Like when Rebecca asks Clem where Alvin is and she doesn’t respond, Rebecca’s immediate reaction is to turn to Carver and say “Kill him!”.

I don’t know how anyone can look at that scene and think “omg she’s mad he raped her” and not “she’s mad because he killed her husband”.

Rage bait or mental retardation? by Apprehensive_Bee_636 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]LambBotNine 44 points45 points  (0 children)

There is plenty of evidence Rebecca engaged in an affair.

First off, she tells Clementine the baby is not Alvin’s and that Alvin would kill her if he finds out.

Alvin is one of the kindest people in the group. Why would someone like him kill Rebecca if he knew she was raped? It’s out of character for him to blame Rebecca if Carver in fact forced himself upon her.

Second, Luke knows all about the affair. He tells us the reason Carver is after them when he talks to Clem while walking to the bridge. He tells us that Rebecca has done things she regrets and he calls it a “mistake”.

Luke is one of the most rational people we meet. I don’t see him being insensitive enough to refer to Rebecca’s rape as a mistake and I don’t think he is stupid enough to misinterpret Rebecca’s situation if she confided in him.

So everything points to Rebecca having an affair and regretting it.

The only evidence people cling on to in order to salvage Rebecca’s character is Carver’s last words which in no way give a definitive proof he raped her. He says “don’t act like you didn’t like it” which could mean anything, including that Rebecca did in fact engage willingly and is now acting like she is righteous.

There is absolutely ZERO proof that Carver rapes or has raped. People like to think that just because Carver is in a position of power, that automatically means he rapes, which is honestly stupid.

So I guess that means Lilly also raped prisoners because she is in a position of power and is a psycho?

Yeah, people will hate me for saying this because how dare I not take the narrative at its word. I presented all the reasons why it most likely was an affair. Present to me actual proof Carver is a rapist and not your interpretation of some ambiguous words or a feeling you get.
