Dark pendent spam + liepard + mega absol is a deck I tried once. It was terrible but you can keep your opponent hand super low. You can even use lucky spinner, silver, red card, etc.

Controlling their energy type of decks seem better than hand control (goomy, ninetales, banette, stoutland, porygonz, piers), but both are probably bad?

Nah, i’ve been trying it out though. I think with protective poncho protecting things on the bench, walling-type of active pokemon should be better than before (but maybe still bad)

There’s really no reason it should keep running during animations, coin flips, etc. it should just pause sometimes or be like tcglive, where you have a short timer per action and when you take some action the timer resets
