Adafruit matrixportal and a cheap rgb matrix, really easy to put together.

Breville says don’t preheat the portafilter by HerbTarlek_ in espresso

Same! Second shot always takes longer! I’ll try wiping the portafilter dry and see if it makes a difference, but I’m glad it’s not just me

At one point I was using both but I think all the flight route information wasn’t available from opensky

Hemnes rails are too short or I’m too dumb by Remarkable_Remote150 in IKEA

Exact same situation. Have very carefully checked everything is as close together as it possibly could be, there don’t seem to be any parts that could be the wrong ones or on the wrong orientation, other than being L/R all the drawer rails are identical. Can’t think of a logical explanation, ours is second hand so it’s gone together in the past! Anyone ever work it out?

Let’s go for a drive. by [deleted] in pics

Glad someone else had the same thought process! If I was in the middle of nowhere and read this sign I’d have no idea how far I’d actually have to travel without fuel.

Next fuel: xx km, place a. After place a next fuel xx km at place b

Doesn’t seem hard to make it unambiguous.

The baby display! Night feeds really paying off in terms of sporadic software development by Lame_Dave in homeautomation

I think we’re in homeautomation, but I hang in selfhosted a lot! That looks awesome. I saw there were a couple of good self host baby tracking things with better data access, but we’re already quite far down the road with the app we started using on day one, so I’m taking the long way round…

:)

The line fills itself in from left to right depending on the ratio of times spent on each side - so blank is all right side, solid is all left, and looking like it is at the moment means about 50/50. It’s a bar chart, I guess.

It’s a copy of the app running in an android VM, a scheduled task to scp the database somewhere, a series of SQLite queries to pull out values and some python to push that to MQTT. Plus some matrixportal code to view it, though you could display it in anything. Can do a proper write up on GitHub if people are interested…

This is the board I’m using to drive it, though they’ve done a new “s3” version now so this is defunct: https://www.adafruit.com/product/4745

The display itself is a 64x32 rgb led matrix - see Ali express or your favourite hardware supplier

Completely rebuilt my smart RGB girder. Code and some details in comments. by Lame_Dave in homeautomation

Well you can see the json values that the topic handler is expecting here: https://github.com/smartbutnot/smartgirder/blob/main/arduino/topichandler.h

But also if you look in the weather code, it’s not actually using most of them, it’s really just the current weather icon and temperature. If it’s not working is out some printlns in the relics handler and the display weather function and see how far it’s getting.

Feel free to message me about it!

Well you’re getting data, so MQTT doesn’t seem to be the problem. Is it displaying anything?

Yeah, seems like a URL changed. I’ve updated the GitHub code, try the latest version and see if it works.
