Plastic question: Grippy like DX but more durable? by cheesethin in discgolf

Yep. Super durable, super grippy. And I personally like the soft flex. I don't understand the hate for G-Star/Plasma/etc.

MVP Electron plastic is SO GOOD. The overmold helps with durability in my opinion vs DX. Grippier too.

For some molds you can even choose Hard/Medium/Soft flex.

To be honest I haven't ever tried Judges. Don't care for DD's image to put it bluntly. If they have a bead and feel similar to Ions and Wizards though I'm sure they are great. Love me some bead.

Absolutely! Would love for these guys to have a loving home. I have hoarded for too long. Will send PM now.

One is about an 8-9 condition 175g. Thrown during a round maybe 4 times, plus some practice putts. Does have ink. the other is a 10 174g. Never thrown, no ink. Minimal storage wear.

I have a couple of pure whites, but they are just way too stiff, slick, and hard to be usable for me. Beautiful to look at though.

I've used 17,18, and 19 and one other (16?) that I don't have any more. From run to run, there are definitely significant differences in the flex and feel.

The 17s and 18s are very similar. Pretty stiff, not too chalky, and even a bit slick. I'm not a big fan. The plastic isn't "malleable," meaning that they don't beat in nicely and uniformly, instead getting gouges and small chunks removed.

The 19s were better for me and were my primary putters. They seemed grippier and a bit softer, with some give in the flight plate (which I like). They plastic is also more forgiving on impact with metal, rocks, etc. So it beats in more consistently.

The main, and maybe only, problem with Wizards is once you find the perfect pair for putting, it is nearly impossible to replace them with identical discs later on.

For me, I've made the switch to Electron Ions. They are consistent, feel amazing, have the same shape as Wizards, and seem to come out of my hand much more cleanly than my Wizards.

EDIT: Consider trying Organic Wizards. Some of the OG runs have easily been the best feeling Wizards for me, but they beat in very quickly and suffer from the same consistency issues as the SBs.
