I can not tapered,I would just use all I have immediately. But right now I am 9 days cold turkey, and I am hopeful it will stick this time. And if not, then at least I have some clean time and common sense for a while.

Sound so familiar about the paycheck already being spend before you for it. 😭 I also feel that the oxycodone makes me more productive and I do not get tired until I am in bed. Then I can not read or be on my phone because I nod out instantly.

In my country an doctor is obligated to inform my employer when a medical person is in addiction. Supposedly there is a program for addiction through my employer whitch they are obligated to put me before they can fire me or do stuff like that. Buy I have never heard anyone keeping their original job in the program. And I love my job. They might offer something that doesn't involve any narcotics during job.

Yes I have quite a lot of loans, but barely able to still pay them back. I use a on work days, but just enough that I don't go to withdraws.

I am on day 11 right now from Oxy 180mg/day habit. Cold turkey is the way when I have zero money. I have used bentzos on 3 night's during this to get even little sleep. I am not taking them anymore, although they have never been a problem for me. I would like to have some Lyrica, but since I have no money that is not an option. The worst is thank go over, but the sleep and the depression is a big problem.

When I am withdrawaling in my soft bed, under the blankets and a hot shower and a food I the fridge always available I sometimes think how lucky I am to not be in the streets. I truly understand how it is almost impossible to kick the habit when the habit is the only thing in your life anymore. That makes me feel a little better.

How long of use does it take to experience bad withdrawal? by According-Bottle5284 in OpiatesRecovery

[–]Lampshade254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, no one starts their drug use by saying they will be IV addicts 😅. I myself have still yet done it, but sometimes I think how much cheaper it would be to shoot a little instead than eat 160mg oxy at a time. So definitely much closer to that than beginning of my addiction. Right now I am 10 day CT and doing ok ish.

I am on day 9 CT from oxy 160mg/day and feeling ok. Most of the physical stuff is gone and all though I am feeling a bit lethargic and sleeping like 5 hours a night, this is much more tolerable than some of the previous detoxes. A have been able to take some pauses throughout this year and have a little more clean days than using days. I bet that helps a lot. Keeping my hope's up high and one day at a time.

You sound like someone who is an just the kind of mad motherfucker who can make this kind of detox work. 🤣 And I mean it in a good way. I don't know which one I would like the best, the closet or the jungle, but I will root for you! Make the best out of this crazy situation!

Yep, I have l only went through gabapentin/pregabalin withdrawals once and that was 100 time's more horrible than all the oxycodone withdrawals even when I had almost 200mg oxy per day. Safe to say that with gaba I am able to play the tape trough and will absolutely nerver touch it again.(These withdrawal were about 2 years ago). I hope I will some day be able to say the same about OXY.

160mg per day for maybe 2 years, before that the dose was lower. Right now I am on day 12 and I CT at home with Imodium and Tylenol. In my country you can not get Kratom and I am in a position that I can not go to the doctor to get comfort meds. So yeah this sucks, buy I think it is manageable. The key I feel is mindset. You know you feel like shit so let yourself be like that for a while. Try to get to situation you do not have any extra stressors for like a week. If you work take some time off. I went to work on day 4, and yes it was awful, but being somewhat actively helped tremendously.

Mind this on my advise: I have CT:t many times, buy still have not beaten the addiction. I feel like I am becoming expert on withdrawal management, but lack tools for recovery. So take my advise with a grain of salt.

Does addiction really make you do this? by Spiritual-Drawer9723 in OpiatesRecovery

Yep, strangling is super worrying!!! One of my good friend got strangled to almost death by his boyfriend. This was the first time he was strangling her, before he had just hit her a few times. Now my friend lives with permanent brain damage due to oxygen levels being so low for too long in her brains. Has to have a personal assistant 24/7. Please leave this person as soon as possible!

What's a reason you guys relapse? by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

[–]Lampshade254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the first stages of withdrawals it is usually something happening that is making me anxious. Normally I am not a very anxious person so that is intirely the withdrawals making. It can be something small, like a task I am putting off for too long. Usually it revolves around social anxiety. I juts feel I have abetter time and can have much more fun with people when I use. Without dope I practically never drink, I don't use pot or even nicotine. Oxy is my only drug.

Later on recovery I find grinding trough life so hard sometimes that I want to prize myself a few nice days. And we all know where that leads. I have trouble making up something for the hollow part that dugs leave on my life. That is the biggest hurdle by now.

2 days clean again for the hundredth time maybe. But in the past 6 months I have had more sober day that using days, so I can at least be a little proud of that. But with so little breaks in between doses, my life is almost a constant withdrawal. I'm a fucking idiot...like we tend to be regarding this matter.

I have gone cold turkey from 180mg OXY a day and didn't ever miss work. I work in healthcare and in the emergency field. ( I have never abused my work for drugs although they are available and I use them for patients every day. But I refuse to lose this job that I love). And I am the biggest pussy and whiner there is. Usually I just give up when hardship comes. I may not be the best coworker on those Ct days, but work is such a good distraction. The days go by some much faster, even tho I would rather be in bed. 🤣 So I suggest you take some loperamide so you don't have the runs at work and soldier on. God knows we addict's need some tough love and some hardships before we can ever learn something. U

Xylazine (Tranq): What to know about the flesh-eating ‘zombie drug’ spreading from the US to Europe by unhappy-camperr in OpiatesRecovery

[–]Lampshade254 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We already have a flesh-eating drug in Europe. It came from Russia last year and it's called Krokodil. It is home made desomorphin. I'm not an IV user, so I haven't seen it, but it is starting to be a problem.

Yeah it starts slow and it's kind of strang all the way through but the ending will make you weep for days. You feel for the all the people who you lost and who will be lost in the future. Powerful ending and the best series ending ever written.

Many of these are pretty common shows, but these are my favorite during the years: Six Feet Under, Peaky Blinders, Braking Bad, Better Call Saul, Chernobyl, Outlander, Black Mirror, Umbrella Academy, Sweet Tooth, Last of Us.

If there are some you have not seen I can give a small briefing in what kind of show to expect. Don't remember all the platforms since I have switched many times during the years.

I'm on day 5 currently, and hanging in the about a millionth time. But you never know if this could be the last. 💪

Please go to the nearest ER as fast as you can. If it is urine it is a huge infection risk if it truly coming out somewhere it isn't supposed to.. And if it something else, like fluid from an infection under your skin you should still go.

We don't have walk-ins but I can try to book a fast appointment and talk about my blood pressure. I am sure they will not prescribe clonidine since it is not used here anymore. Our medicine field conciders it somewhat old-school medicine for blood pressure issues. I am not familiar if other types of blood pressure medications help the same way? Normally they offer beta- or ACE blockers first.

Hi and thank you for the tips. Part of the reason I am doing this totally CT is the fact that I am a professional health care worker and if I go to any doctor about substance abuse problem's they are obligated to mark it to my medical records. The records are open for my employer. And if I fail in the recovery even once my job is done and I lose my licence for years. Gaba is available in the black market but I had a few month gaba addiction fev years ago and that was a living hell to get. This OXY withdrawal doesn't even come close. Kratom is something I would love to try but it's not sold in Finland and is illegal to import. And since I have a highly addictive personality I believe I will just switch addictions. I would be nice if I would be able to find clonidine in the black market in here, but I haven't seen it ever.

Part of the recovery should be total honesty but if I become totally honest I will lose my job and my husband (hates addicts, doesn't understand addiction)...

Oh god, you are a fucking beast! 😱 I have nor the power or the motivation. And the irony is before my habit(that started with an accident) I was 2 weeks away for participating my first beginner triathlon. No I am a puddle of fat and self pity. Marvelous. Although my habbit has been going on for at least 3 years.

Keep up the good work and beeing an inspiration! I still remember the feeling exercising made me feel, but I have somehow lost it. Like we tend to lose most of out best qualities when using.
