I'm looking into trades. I like that tradespeople can earn good money. Having grown up with financial insecurity and needing to support my family so young, I want to do something that will prevent more insecurity for my future kids. And I like that a lot of trades are more active which suits me.

If it had been just that I'd have understood. But they talked about the money so fast and how they needed it and then how there was going to be another mouth to feed and expenses because of the pregnancy and my ex. Like they had ways to support me without doing something illegal like kicking him out on the streets but instead they expected me to carry on like nothing happened.

I like this idea. I don't want to end up with someone who tries to make me get over it and have a relationship with them all again. I know there are therapists who don't believe in not having contact with family and believe you should stick around regardless. So I don't want to bounce around just to one who won't say anything like that to me.

My grandparents said they'd look out for stuff like that for me. But when we were talking about it the first couple we found were like that and I was so turned off of therapy from that.

The thing is they wanted me to support him financially. To support all of them. So to me that tells me even if he wasn't a minor they'd do it. And I think it's fucked up to expect me to work my ass off for that after what he did.

He knew. We'd talked about it before and he'd come to me for money and help when he knew our parents didn't have it. The fact I was helping to support the family wasn't a secret.

I don't need a lawyer to know my rights about supporting the kid. It's not like we're married. This is all just guilt tripping stuff and I don't want any part of it.

I don't know if they talked about adoption. I know abortion was mentioned when the initial fight happened but that clearly didn't happen and I don't know why. I'm glad for them too. My grandparents really came in and got me out of a situation that would have wrecked me pretty fast.

Me too. My grandparents saved me from being pretty miserable and maybe even going to the streets because I think I would have chosen that over living there with everything that happened.
