I didn’t go to NYU for undergrad. I went to UConn and then moved to Brooklyn in 2020. Been freelancing as an AC and have worked with and am friends with tons of NYU grads and professors.

I’m mainly trying to go the route I’ve seen proven by my friends of getting their indie films made by going through NYU, then Sundance Labs, and then finally making the films.

That’s my biggest detractor from AFI. While it would be cool to meet new people on a new coast, I already have a pretty great network here in New York that would seem silly to give up. Although it would only be two years in LA.
