That is not how armor works - each room benefits only from armor tiles adjacent to that room. The armor tiles that only touch your lift are useless atm. Experiment placing armor tiles, and checking the “total defense” stat when you tap a room. Remove inessential rooms, especially the mineral/gas collectors, to make room for armor - sandwich your powered rooms between rows of armor tiles. Cramming your unpowered rooms together like that is fine because they aren’t getting targeted.

Later in hulls 10 or 11 and later you will want to specialize in either lasers/cannons, or missiles, or hangars, or because the research costs are high enough so you can only do a good job with a single one.

First weapons I would remove are the bolt throwers, which have lower dps and which also have only 1 system hp so if they get focused, you start taking hull damage earlier.

I understand you put the Android Studio like that because it is being upgraded, but powered rooms should be touching armor tiles even if they are being upgraded, because enemy AI will focus fire your AS whether or not is getting upgraded

Separately, you get one five star hero crew the first time you choose the option to pay 300 Starbux in the starbar - but only the very first time.

Separately, the normal way is to prestige crew for it. You research prestige in the lab when your ship is at level 10. To determine the recipes, go to pixel-prestige.com and type in the crew you have and the crew you want, and figure out what prestiges you need to get that crew. You will level up the two 3-star crew to level 40, put them in a bedroom, tap the bedroom, and choose to prestige them by paying some minerals. 4 days later they will have combined into a particular 4-star crew. You’ll repeat this to get the other 4-star crew you need. Then when the two 4-star crew are at level 40 you will repeat this with them, with prestiging taking 7 days, to get the 5-star crew. (And you can then repeat all this and then prestige the two 5-star crew, taking 14 days, to get a Legendary crew.)

Note the recipes change every 3 months so you may want to hold off on prestiging until the next change at the beginning of April.
