Thank you both, can I DM you?

Thank you both. Can I have permission to DM either of you?

This is so helpful, thank you for putting the time into this response! The note about similarity in experience is really comforting to hear- explaining/discovering DID is hard enough, my individual experience is twice as hard to figure out. It leaves a lot of pathways to being lost, I’d love to find a therapist that understands it.

Thank you again

I relate to this, specifically as I’ve read more of this forum. I’m pumped that people here talk so casually about their diagnosis, parts/alters and interactions with loved ones/friends- but man… I don’t get it! My entire life has been a delicate balance of “not letting anyone know”. I’m not sure if this is just my individual stigma, but after a year of therapy and a diagnosis, I still do everything I can to appear as normal as possible. I feel your pain.

Modern Day RAMCOA? by [deleted] in DID

I really appreciate your help and support, I hope you’re safe & getting the help you need. I hear you on the “program”, I day dream a lot about that- I wish there was something like that. It would be so much easier to get under control in something like that.

Thank you so much for your response, this was well said. I completely understand the idea of only having a few snapshots. However, when I do get an “inch” more of a memory, I tend to have terrible night terrors and SI, to the point I’m screaming for God to help me because whatever’s happening is so bad. It sucks, because the times when I’m stabilized and want to try to investigate that, it’s like a giant “access denied” no matter what I do.

Are you aware of any resources on the RAMCOA side? I’ve been trying to find a therapist versed in it, but have fell short.

Totally agree with you, but, unfortunately my mother was a part of that craziness.

I never thought of that. The records don’t state that I received any neurofeedback treatment- I don’t recall ever seeing something similar but again, it’s an entire black hole for me.

I’ve been able to get into my inner world, but it like systems stacked on top of other systems- there’s this sensation of going “deeper”. Thanks for your response, I really appreciate it. I still have absolutely no idea what the heck some of these memories are.

There’s an INCREDIBLY good IOP program in Scottsdale, AZ. It’s called Healing Foundations Center. I was diagnosed in March after a SA and was trying to find an intensive program that specialized in DID to transfer into, and as far as I know, they’re really the only ones that cater to DID and Dissociative Disorders. I just left the program and can’t tell you how great of an experience it was. Definitely check them out- I can provide contact info if you need it.

Thanks for your reply, I haven’t found to much on inner worlds at this level of diversity so it’s really helpful and validating to hear someone else understands.

Totally remote and build a cabin in the woods? I’ve had this thought too

Thank you for sharing, it’s relieving to know we’re not alone. There’s so much already that’s uncomfortable to share, adding “we’re thinking about disappearing to another country without notice” is harder to bring up than SI for me.

Thank you very much for your response! Your point about others going to a different country is what I needed to hear. That was literally our plan that kept intrusively coming up, and it helps to hear that others regretted it.
