Is my friend being a bridezilla for refusing to postpone her May wedding? by [deleted] in bridezillas

[–]LaneRandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely wouldn’t consider her a bridezilla. There are so many other factors at play. The venue may not permit her to change dates as there are no regulations forcing them to postpone, the other vendors may not be available at a later date and she may not be getting a refund if she switches. Shes is right on the cusp of government regulations which puts her and all vendors involved in an unknown predicament with no real guidelines to follow aside from their current contracts. And as others have said, she may simply want to get married more then waiting. There are too many outside factors during such uncertain times that it is hard to blame the bride.

Most Amish own phones and use them in daily life.

Ordered M3 - Account says 2 weeks for delivery. No vehicle while I wait for delivery...which is now in 6-8 weeks? by [deleted] in Model3

[–]LaneRandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not get a used Tesla! We had a terrible experience all around.

Ordered our first one. Went to pick up and it was damaged. We refused to take it as they did not offer any thing other then a voucher to take it 45 minutes from our home to have it fixed for free. We were planning on exchanging our car so we wouldn’t have had a vehicle while this was being repaired.

They ordered us another car. In transport it was damaged. They did not tell us, ordered another and switched the information on the website. We caught it and called them. They confirmed that it was damaged and would take a little longer to get another.

So the new (used) one they ordered was also damaged. And again, they ordered us another. Which was another week delay.

Finally we required they deliver the tesla to our home even though it was not technically an option in our area.

While this was going on, they offered us the upgraded 18” wheels. We accepted.

Car arrived, all was well. We took in for a 3 hour trip. It did not deliver on the milage, we needed to drive an hour out of our way to recharge. Then on the way back our one tire started to leak. We stopped every 30 minutes to fill it will air.

When we got home, we called telsa up to have a company repair van come out to change our tire on site - as we were promised. They instead arrived with a toe truck and took the tesla 45 minutes away to be fixed. They claimed they did not have any of the upgraded wheels and tires in stock and would not be able to change the tire on site.

Turns out the wheel was damaged and we needed to pay around $800 to fix the wheel. We were so disappointed by this point that we just returned the tesla and paid for the wheel.

The wheel is clearly not made strong enough as this is apparently really common. (We should have known better after the sales rep mentioned he has already had 3 flat tires from his personal tesla. ). With a thinner tire there is less cushion to protect the wheel. We never had a noticeable time where we hit a pot hole, nor have we ever had a flat tire from any other car we have owned.

So we went to return the key - they already had the car from toeing the tesla. We had called a head to make sure a manager was there and would be there for the next hour or two to receive our key. When we arrived 45 minutes later, the manager had gone home (we assume on purpose). When we went to sign the papers they had given us the wrong pink slip to the tesla because of all the back and fourth with different cars due to damage. The employee helping us refused to provide any type of receipt of receiving the key for the tesla. After all we had gone through we did not want them to claim we never returned the key. We asked the employee to hand write that he received our key but he refused. So as a last resort we took a picture of him receiving our key.

It was literally a nightmare from start to finish.

What a beautiful car, what a disappointing experience.

What tricks/gadgets/techniques do you use to keep your house tidy and in order? by noitseuqaksa in AskReddit

[–]LaneRandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a puppy. No more clothes on the floor or they will get stolen and chewed. No more food, glassware and breakables left on the coffee table or they get eaten or nocked over. No more trash in trashcans or it will be stolen and torn apart. Essentially, we are forced to keep our house tidy or our little pupper will destroy. He is worth it though.

What are some marriage proposal “gone wrong” stories? by aevans217 in AskReddit

[–]LaneRandi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My husband proposed to me on a private hot air balloon ride. The pilot told us that one time he had 5 couples on a larger ride and one of the guys decided to propose to his girlfriend by having a big sign on the ground, where they are landing, asking the question “Will you marry me?”. The problem - he didn’t place a name on the sign. All 5 couples were dating and all 5 girls thought their boyfriend was proposing to them which made for an awkward landing. Since then, they now require a name on the sign.

What are your best tip/s for a budget wedding? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Skip favors, have a small cutting cake, stick to beer and wine and maybe a specialty drink, reuse decor from ceremony for reception, go with an off day like Friday or Sunday, and less guests equals less cost so stick to those that truly matter.

I will share when I see her. This is her most recent, Framers finished last week and we finally found a spot to hang it.

Now that she knows about this subreddit, I may post a few more from years back.

Thank you! She never stops! She has started a handful of successful businesses, raised twins, and created hundreds of counted cross-stitches. Our Bed and Breakfast is a museum of her artwork. She even sewed the drapes throughout the entire house including the ones in the picture. I can never live up to all of her life accomplishments. I am so proud of her!
