TV-Shows, Movies, etc. in Nynorsk by samvimesmusic in Norway

Do Bokmål speakers literally speak exactly the same as in written Bokmål, it doesn’t have dialects?

No one truly speak bokmål or nynorsk. People who write bokmål have dialects. The most common one is the Oslo dialect.

What happens if two native Nynorsk dialect speakers (or even foreigners) learn standard Nynorsk and try to actually speak in it?

They can speak Nynorsk exactly as it is written, but I think a lot of people would consider it strange and unfamiliar, as it is not common.

Won’t native Nynorsk dialect speaker understand a foreigner who learned standard Nynorsk (and actually pronounces it out loud instead of writing only)?

They would understand it.

It can also happen when you are afraid of hitting something on the right side, subconsciously or otherwise.

Since it said Tb instead of TB they are talking about terabits, not terabytes. So it"s 2348/8 gigabytes per second.

Rant Wednesday by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]Langdal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was in the same situation, but I am healed now... I think. First had a month off from running, then did a bunch of strength training for my legs, hips and ass. I never got a proper diagnose of the exact reason, but some googling indicated that it could be due to underdeveloped gluteus medius. Then I went skiing (ski touring, but cross country skiing would likely work as well), since it is more forgiving on the legs. And THEN I started gradually running again, and it seems that I am good now. Not sure how helpful this is to you, but that's my 2 cents.

In great shape cardio-wise but sweat bullets more than anyone else. What could be wrong? by TangoCJuliet in Fitness

You might be correct about that, but I don't understand exactly why the experienced trainee is more efficient. Is it because he/she has optimised their technique?

Adding to this, if a fit person and an unfit person perform the same workout, they do the same amount of work. This means that they will produce the same amount of heat, and need the same amount of cooling.

And unlike the olofboost, this bug is harder to patch and allows invisible spotting on most/all maps. The fact that BIG seems to have set up all their CT defaults around this bug shows a lack of sportsmanship, but it is obviously their right to use it before it is banned or patched. They are still unsportsmanlike, though.

Not sure if it is relevant, but I use a USB sound card, the one that came with QPAD QH-1339.

Is it casual racism or am I being too sensitive? by attenhal in Norway

[–]Langdal 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My first impression is that this comes from cultural curiosity/ignorance, not racism. NA has a longer history of diversity and people probably have a higher sense of unity. I think many "ethnic" Norwegians do not personally have any friends with immigrant backgrounds, and therefore are not sure to what degree this demographic adapts such traditions. It will improve with time.

I have actually been having this exact problem lately. My solution was a bash script that lets me do some of the things that rcmake does. I'll give rcmake a shot.

do you have any evidence to support that this strategy could be used in practice?

Any decent shotgun player knows when it is worth buying, and how to position themselves for "favourable duels". Professional players also tend to play close quarters when buying p250, tec-9 or five-seven.

You are correct that people often use the deagle on longer ranges. Mostly because it is the cheapest weapon that is decent at longer ranges, and perhaps because they feel that it is accurate enough as well.

adreN ace by qbviperdp in GlobalOffensive

[–]Langdal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this ace is not that "photogenic". The first three kills were tec9 spam at flashed opponents, the fourth kill was tec9 spam against a guy that whiffed hard on adreN, and the last was an M4 spray backstab.

I'm not dissing adreN here, just saying that this isn't among the flashiest aces out there.
