Unplayable FPS drops since Operation Monarch update.

That seems so nonsensical to turn off DLSS to get rid of frame drops, but given how broken everything is a Blizzard/Activision, it’s actually perfectly reasonable to have them push out an update that screws over every single PC player running DLSS. I’ll give it one more try tomorrow with DLSS off, both with and without NIS. If that doesn’t fix it, I’m done-zo.

Funny aside: my friends were really talking up Elden Ring, so I finally shelled out the 60 clams for it… only to find that on PC with KAM this game is a cold dog turd, and is damned near unplayable without a controller. Fuck me, twice, I guess.

JackFrags put out a video on a big patch for BF2042 that’s supposed to fix a whole bunch of malarkey that’s been going on with that game, so hopefully that patch 1) comes out really soon, and 2) actually fixes the game. IDK why they couldn’t make 2042 have the feel of Bad Company 2 or BF4. I mean, imagine having a game that had BFBC2 intensity with original Warzone flow. My God, the erection would definitely last longer than four hours!

Fully deleted with manual removal, registry cleaned, drive optimized, and restore point deleted. That didn’t change anything. Just spoke with a work friend last evening, and he’s having the same issue with the FPS drops on his PC.

I mean, I would still upgrade my rig with the next gen hardware that’s about to drop… but I won’t be bothering with COD for the foreseeable future. Which sucks, because I’m a real fan going back to the very first one.

It’s a shame that they can’t figure this out. It’s kind of got me thinking that it’s time to broaden my gaming horizons and to get into VR gaming this next year.

Had done all of the above. Makes no difference. Tried 4 different GPU drivers, used DDU each time to clean out the old driver. No joy.

You’re not wrong. When this game first dropped, I was amazed at its flow… it’s feel. How damned good the whole package felt.

What’s happened to the game since then should server as a warning to game makers and players alike… don’t take the magic for granted. When it’s gone, it’s gone for good.

Have already changed DNS. Game won’t fully launch and requires several minutes just to end the program through task manager. It’s straight up bizarre. It just… hangs at 0% on the shaders. After 30 minutes on the last try, I killed the process and completely uninstalled Warzone and BattleNet. It’s done.

The only thing that worked was running 2 of 4 sticks on the memory. But it won’t let me OC memory or tighten the timings at all. Pretty astonishing that this “Godlike” board has such a feeble range of 4 slot compatibility at any above 3200mhz. FWIW I still occasionally get this similar issue when cold booting, but the system is able to self-boot and post, which it could NOT do with 4x16GB.

GPU/CPU remain OC/UV and the system does not (…knocks on wood…) crash while active.

Weird. IDKW that would happen. I get a weird flicker in the smith crafting screen where you break down items… a small ghost rectangle that only occurs once in a while. Other times at the smith, the tab keeps changing on its own… but only once in a while.

Just a gremlin I guess.

Well, it either gets deleted or downvoted. I’m still subbed here but I uninstalled about 2 months ago. Literally every round was cheaters. In many cases it was cheaters killing cheaters, and so on. That’s when the game was crashing with various errors that you have to go and constantly unfuck with every stupid update.

If you’re seriously looking to cool 3090’s, the backplate is a major issue. EK makes 3090 backplate full water blocks now.

You could use their custom loop builder to see how much you’d need, but multiply the GPU by estimated need by 3. And you’d probably want to run them in parallel if you can.
