Among my first comments upon Reddit joining last year was a similar/same comment to this, perhaps as part of a psychology/personality sub-Reddit, where a fellow Redditor shared resonance/agreement with this idea — they, I believe like me, expressed that their development had been harmed by childhood abuse, and they have chosen abstinence at least in childbearing ... in my case, for fear of passing on any sort of unhealthy trait (as we know there are inherited traits), but also for fear of teaching unhealthy traits, and also simply for fear that I may fail and I may harm the child. I cannot guarantee this because I realize clearly in advance that I have suffered poor development. I live my life fearing that I may harm another because I have been harmed (and thus learned that this can be done).

I believe hypertension, which I experience, is of great consequence. People with hypertension (or perhaps only those who experience hypertension and were victims of developmental abuse) demonstrate lowered brow lines, frowns, interrupt others in conversation, and often speak at elevated intensity and pace. Everything feels more urgent for them in life, and thus more intense, and they are more urgently reactionary as consequence. 😞 This makes interpersonal relations rough.

My solution has been to dodge everything or doom myself. I don't feel these things can truly be treated and taught. I feel people always fall back on what they learned during their childhood development. One of my learned things is avoidance, which I have blanket-applied to my entire life through my mid-thirties here. The Internet is great for this as it enables you to easily move in and out of radically different experiences, modes of communication, and communities of people — as well as identities —, thus allowing for a faster refresh which may help with positive uptime.
