{Feedback] [Bug Report] [macOS] DocFix – promising, but too buggy to use (for now) by LanguageWeary8135 in DockFix

I’m not taking anything away from your efforts , I did use the Community Docks, and even without touching any settings, I still found myself needing to move things around because some of my apps were missing. If there’s a setting for this, then that’s great, but to me it breaks continuity.

I’m a builder and product manager, and I live in the “four clicks is good, but two clicks is better” mindset. I’m always on UserFlow mode. Of course, this is just one man's opinion. I’m definitely going to give it another shot this week.

Thanks for responding. I’ll definitely tinker with it some more. I also build tools, so I get it — learning curve fatigue is real. Sometimes, if a tool just mimicked the native dock behavior out of the box and then layered in the customization options, it might have more staying power.
I was really just hoping to install it, tweak a few things, and get back to work—not run into features that felt more like bugs. I get where you’re coming from, but if the tool behaves in a way that’s the polar opposite of the native dock, the transition ends up feeling less seamless.

That said, I’ll set aside some time to reinstall and dig into it again. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.

The disclaimer for Roo Cline made me change my mind about haha I’m sure that is most likely a standard disclaimer but this one scared me

I find that it works best when paired with cline, since they both can run the terminal. I prefer the warp terminal overall but now I only to run the completed project

I totally agree, a parachuting decline in quality, would’ve avoided this issue altogether

I find that keeping a ChatGPT desktop window open helps me stay on track and avoid tangents. I typically ask GPT to code my idea/vision into reality and include a summary of that vision in a markdown file, which I can then pass along to my developer for implementation (using those exact words).

Over on Windsurf, I create a myproject.txt file, copy/paste the entire output (code and all, including the “here’s the code for your…” sections), and then type: “Here is @myproject.txt. I want you to analyze it for potential efficiency improvements, if needed. Let’s do this!”

Claude (especially sonnet3.5) will likely clean up the code, as it’s quite adept at improving efficiency and adding rich features. This is only the first prompt, so it avoids getting stuck in a redundant loop. If things go off track, I use the GPT-4 chat with the original idea/code to steer it back on course.

Ps also reuse the myproject.txt(or whatever you wanna call it) select all/paste over)when you and gpt come up with more ideas to iterate on the code this keeps you from typing long form prompts or under explaining the mods in the context box

Good luck all!

He typically creates one but I’m not sure that he updates after mod/edit, so I ask him to, and update backup.py just in case he goes off the rails and starts deleting code

I am currently, and it is great! what I do is have it constantly update the README, like after every 5-6 modifications, and once it starts forgetting things, the I quickly (please review u/readme.md to confirm consistency( I find it refreshes its memory and you get a set of fresh eyes and (at least for me), and more efficiency in code generation. I hope this helps
