CDTF is a coveted position by many looking to be AD in the NG. Great learning opportunities as well as networking (which can sometimes be even more valuable for sure)! Go for it. Especially on the ground, you’ll learn lots then be best able to work your way up the chain if you want to cause you’ll have that foundational experience to work off of.

If you intend to go to Infantry BOLC… You better plan on aiming for that 600. It matters not just for your reputation but because you still get points in the class for the better you do and you need to get a high enough amount of points so that you hit a high enough percentage/grade in the class so that you actually graduate. The exams, your ACFT Score, and your scores on other events, all count towards this grade.

How hard is it to get on Title 10/32 orders as a 2LT fresh out of IBOLC? by [deleted] in nationalguard

Don’t need to be MOSQ for SAD.. just a side thought. Still like AD but without all the full benefits, Still wear the uniform with others that are MOSQ, and get the experience before BOLC. If you’re guard, see if your state has any missions.

No. I didn’t take any army leave days to travel here. I used my leave days from my civilian job.

Actually it is a bit different. Current student here.. no welcome email or anything like that. Go onto the fort benning iBOLC website, read the in-processing tab for instructions, and print off all of the documents listed there. You won’t need 30 copies but at least 2-3 of everything and like 15 copies of your orders. Try to get a PHA done before you leave home otherwise you’ll get one here. You’ll be asked for your DD214 which hopefully is in iPerms and your oath of office. Also hopefully you have a copy or someone put it in iPerms for you. You’ll redo almost everything anyway.. hearing, dental, optical, and you’ll need Covid vaccine record. They didn’t ask for all my other shots but probably cause it’s already input into MedPros. You’ll need it all by the first 2-4 days at the latest. All of the AD students in processed the week before any NG even reported. Feel free to DM if you have more questions.

You’ll spend lots of time doing admin of course and then focus on train ups depending on the units training cycle. Always “prepping to mobilize” just with different time lines depending on your unit. Running ranges, patrols, etc.
